The application cost for the Doctorate program is structured based on candidate category and residency. General category applicants are required to pay a standard fee of Rs. 1,400. However, a concessional rate of Rs. 350 is available for Haryana residents belonging to SC, DSC, BC, EWS, DA, or Third Gender categories.

Kurukshetra University PhD Round 2 Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the following:

• Master’s Degree: A 1-year/2-semester Master’s (after a 4-year Bachelor’s) or a 2-year/4-semester Master’s (after a 3-year Bachelor’s) with at least 55% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade).
• Bachelor’s Degree: A 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s Degree (Honors with Research) with a minimum of 75% marks.
• Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in marks (from 55% to 50% or 75% to 70%) is provided for SC/ST/BC (non-creamy layer), Differently-abled, and EWS candidates of Haryana.
• M.Phil: Candidates who have completed M.Phil with at least 55% marks are also eligible.

Kurukshetra University PhD Round 2 Admission 2026 Selection Process

Admission is granted based on a merit-based system:

1. Exempted Category: Candidates with valid UGC/CSIR-NET (with JRF), DST Inspire Fellowship, or GATE/GPAT are given preference.
2. Entrance Test: For subjects where NET is not conducted or for remaining seats, an Entrance Test is held. Candidates must score at least 50% (45% for reserved categories) to qualify.
3. Interview/Presentation: Qualified candidates must appear for a presentation-cum-interview before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).
4. Final Merit: The final merit is calculated using a formula involving Master’s marks, Entrance Test/NET scores, and additional weightages.
