What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

The top priorities of the university over the next ten years can differ depending on the specific mission and goals. However, we do have a few overarching priorities. Maintaining and enhancing the quality of education should always be a top priority. This includes improving teaching methods, curriculum, and research programs. Embracing technological advancement is crucial. We need to invest in online learning tools, research technology and administrative systems to stay competitive. Creating an inclusive and diverse campus community fosters innovation and prepares students for a globalised world. Addressing environmental concerns by implementing sustainable practices in campus operations and integrating sustainability into the curriculum is increasingly important. Making higher education accessible and affordable to a diverse range of students is a social responsibility. This might involve finding a way to reduce tuition costs or increase scholarship opportunities. Building strong relationships with the local community can benefit both the university and the surrounding areas. Initiatives like community service and outreach can strengthen these ties.

What are some of the major changes that Covid-19 has bought in the education sector according to you?

The coronavirus pandemic has reshaped education. It has done more than just convert classrooms to online learning. It examined fundamental ideas about teaching, testing, attendance, finance, the role of technology, and the human relationships that bind the education sector together. It has revolutionized the way we think about learning. Public schools that were once full of students have become ghost towns and all extracurricular activities have been suspended until further notice. Educational institutions had to find a solution to continue the academic year until the education sector fully adopted distance learning.

How is your relationship with the students of your college?

In general, I would say that my relationship with students is very good. I never send students to the office or raise my voice. I love photographing peace and quiet and setting the tone for the class. If a student wants to challenge or act out, we always address the student immediately and individually. In very difficult cases, a phone call at home is usually sufficient, with the result that management never intervenes.
