Dr. Ishteyaque Alam is the HOD BA LLB at ILR Faridabad. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degree from AMU, Aligarh, where he got an opportunity to meet new people from different countries and learn about different cultures and broaden his horizons. He embarked his teaching career as an Asstt. Prof. in 2009 at the esteemed Institution of Law & Research, Jasana, Faridabad. Since then he is playing an active role there as a teacher cum guide in evolving and maintaining a highly functional and dynamic link with the students aiming to nurture and mold them to be a good, responsible and law abiding citizen of this Great Nation. He is currently assuming the position of HOD in B.A. LL.B five year course making untiring efforts in the sphere of pedagogy. He has published numerous Articles and Research papers in reputed national and international journals. Moreover he has authored a book on History.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your Leadership style?

My leadership philosophy focuses on leaders with effective delegation and is based on the principles of education and mentoring. I maintain open communication, hold team members accountable, and provide guidance for their growth and development. Leaders must learn to mingle with the team and be willing to let their ego become subservient to the needs of the team. I am transparent and fair in my dealings with team members, and I treat everyone with respect and dignity. I am willing to roll up my sleeves and work with a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to achieving collective goals.


What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next ten years?

A university's top priority over the next ten years may depend on specific mission and goals. However, there are several comprehensive priorities that many universities may consider. Maintaining and enhancing the quality of education should always be a top priority. This includes improving teaching methods, curricula and research programs. Adoption of technological advancement is very important. Universities must invest in online learning tools, research technology and management systems to remain competitive. Creating an inclusive and diverse campus community fosters innovation and prepares students for a globalized world. Promoting diversity in both the student body and faculty should be a long-term goal.


What do you see as University’s greatest strengths?

Some of the greatest academic strengths include learning from mistakes, honesty, integrity, responsibility, determination, time management, kindness, problem solving, ability to follow instructions, openness, and creativity.

What are some of the major changes that Covid-19 has bought in the education sector according to you?

The corona epidemic has given education a new shape. It has done more than just convert classrooms to online learning. It explores fundamental ideas about teaching, testing, attendance, finance, the role of technology and the human relationships that bind the education sector. COVID-19 is having a transformative impact on education. It has revolutionized the way we think about learning.


How is your relationship with the students of your college?

Overall I would say that my relationship with students is very good. Teachers should always make sure that their teaching sessions are never boring. I intend to create an enjoyable environment. I firmly believe in the idea that teachers should command respect but not demand respect. I genuinely take keen interest in the well-being of the students. In very difficult situations, a phone call to home is usually sufficient.


Are there any placement opportunities for the students in your college?

Colleges play a crucial role in the placements of students. They provide various opportunities for students to secure their future careers through internships, job fairs, and campus interviews with potential employers. In addition to this, colleges collaborate with different companies from diverse industries. This helps widen the scope of employment options available to students. These partnerships can assist in arranging guest lectures by senior professionals or even creating an opportunity for internships within those firm future careers through internships, job fairs, and campus interviews with potential employers.
