What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

In navigating the dynamic landscape of organizations, especially within the educational sector, I believe in fostering a work environment that embraces change. To strike the right balance, I find a blend of transformational leadership and participative leadership styles to be the most effective in the current scenario. I lead by example, inspire others, and actively engage with my team to unlock their full potential. Simultaneously, I promote collaboration, empower team members, and work closely with individuals at every level of the organization.

How do you strategize about the primary programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your university?

I place a strong emphasis on building a cohesive and supportive environment for both educators and learners. The strategy revolves around maintaining academic excellence through innovative teaching methodologies and a disciplined approach. In the realm of marketing, recognizing the shift towards digital platforms is crucial. Traditional strategies are no longer sufficient, especially when targeting younger demographics. Embracing digital channels becomes essential to effectively communicate with a broader audience cost-effectively.

How does the curriculum of FS University, Shikohabad ensure the best practice of industry?

At FS University, we adhere strictly to university syllabi, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses tailored to industry needs. Our programs, such as BBA and BCA, are designed to prepare students for the realities of a globalized world. We constantly evolve, recently adding the B.Com Hons course to our repertoire. By integrating value-added initiatives like industrial visits, internships, personality development programs, and additional certificate courses, we enhance the job prospects of our students and prepare them for the ever-changing corporate environment. 

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

Ensuring an inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of their race or economic background, is a primary aspect of my role. At FS University, we have successfully created a welcoming space where students from diverse backgrounds feel valued and supported. What do you think should be the institution’s top priority over the next ten years?

Over the next decade, our primary focus should be on enhancing educational attainment levels in Uttar Pradesh and India as a whole. This involves increasing access to higher education, helping students identify and plan for their academic and life goals, leveraging technology for effective learning, and improving success rates across disciplines. We aim to inspire youth to Learn, Discover, Share, Create, and contribute to making the world a better place.

When you first came to FS University, Shikohabad, what was your vision for the college? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

Joining FS University 25 years ago as Chairman in March 2010, my vision was to establish it as a reliable and responsible center of higher studies. Over the past four years, I have introduced new undergraduate courses and applied for Integrated B.Ed., aligning to cater to the diverse needs of society. The journey towards making the college a hub for higher education is an ongoing process, with my priority being to provide affordable education in a conducive environment.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and the university specifically?

One of the significant challenges for higher education in India is the need for a shift towards practical insights rather than a focus solely on theoretical knowledge. At FS University, we are addressing this challenge by emphasizing lifelong learning, enhancing classroom engagement, and fostering skills that enable adaptability to continual change in today’s dynamic world.

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for FS University’s international affairs and/ or students?

We are in the planning stages of establishing a research center at FS University. This initiative aims to provide faculty and students with opportunities to enhance their research capabilities, promote academic excellence, and contribute knowledge to society. The research center will also play a role in addressing various societal issues through problem-solving initiatives.
