The Best part of the SSPAD for Design students is that they are exposed to different subjects and disciplines during their course tenure and one of the major disciplines is Architecture. And we all know that Architecture evolves from a culture or its rooted in culture, so experiencing such an amazing and holistic learning gives new perspective to students to be more creative and innovative in their work.

How do you establish a strong linkage between your institute courses and industry demands?

For the purpose of establishing a linkage between our courses and industry requirements, we regularly bring industry players in college to deliver guest lectures and training programs and these mentors also help students in their projects. Apart from this, we have made internships mandatory for students so that they can gain a deep understanding of how the design industry functions and how people and processes work together to accomplish a task.

What kinds of projects do students usually do under the B. Des Program?

As we all know that B.Des program is available in disciplines like Fashion Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, User Experience Design and many more, so this gives us a clear picture of the kinds of projects our students would be working on.

What career options would be available for students post finishing the B.Des Degree course from your Design School?

As far as the career scope is concerned, so Curriculum of the B.Des course is designed in such a way that students get to learn many new things, designing skills and a diverse range of subjects which are crucial for them to get a good job with a stable package in a reputed organization. And apart from doing a full time job, students can play major roles in the research sector, Research and Development domain of Organizations and in Design Developments and Innovations regions as well.

Which extracurricular activities are organized by your college to enhance the skills of students?

B.Des Program is a skill-based program and only theoretical knowledge is not sufficient for students, hence our college regularly organizes industrial visits to Designing firms and Manufacturing plants and units to make students understand how things actually work on ground level. In addition to this, we assign projects involving intense research work and data collection to students on a regular basis for the purpose of exposing them to the real life scenarios and challenges.
