What are your roles and responsibilities as HOD of ECE at Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology?

Being an HOD, my responsibilities are both academic and administrative. I also need to handle the non-academic curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the branch. My prime motive is that, when a student enters the department, they must have all the facilities, comforts and amenities necessary to thrive. We are providing, for both technical and non-technical courses, all the necessary infrastructure. Moreover, I also work with and support my faculty members. I look over them to ensure they are performing well and are mentoring the students to be prepared for the industry. I also plan and organize all non-academic events like technical events, industrial visits, guest lectures, and seminars.

How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?

Our program has been designed as per industry requirements. We plan our courses and guest lectures with industry experts and professionals to teach the students what to expect and how to prepare for job placements. We have also established an incubation center, in collaboration with BSNL-Visakhapatnam, that aims at fostering and providing facilities for budding entrepreneurs. The cell motivates the students to participate, take part in innovations, and complete projects that would ultimately help their resumes.
