CMR Technical Campus

You have been working since 11 years in the CMR technical campus as a Director. What are the changes you have observed in the campus throughout your journey here? What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Over the course of my 11-year tenure as the Director at CMR Technical Campus, I have witnessed remarkable transformations that have propelled the institution to achieve significant milestones. These milestones include attaining NIRF, NBA, NAAC, ISO, and Autonomous rankings. Such achievements reflect the dedication of our team, faculty, and students towards maintaining high standards in education and infrastructure.

To achieve these recognitions, we have focused on several key factors. First and foremost, ensuring the presence of well-qualified faculty who not only possess deep subject knowledge but also have a passion for imparting quality education. In parallel, investing in state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructure has enabled hands-on learning experiences for our students, making their education more practical and industry-relevant. Additionally, forging strategic MoUs with industries has facilitated a strong connection between academia and real-world applications.

As the Director of the College, How do you encourage collaborations and innovations among faculty and students at CMRTC?

At CMRTC, we have implemented several strategies to foster collaborations and innovations among our faculty and students. One pivotal approach is involving industry experts during the syllabus preparation phase. This ensures that the curriculum remains aligned with the demands of the industry and equips students with skills that are immediately relevant upon graduation. Our commitment to innovation begins from the very first year through the Basic Elements of Engineering Technology (BEET) course. This foundation course not only imparts technical knowledge but also instils entrepreneurship and innovation skills. Such proactive initiatives allow our students to think creatively, solve complex problems, and adapt to dynamic industry landscapes.

In your opinion what are some of the current challenges or opportunities in the field of engineering, and how do you prepare your students to tackle them?

The field of engineering is constantly evolving, presenting both challenges and opportunities. A significant challenge is ensuring that our engineering graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the industry. To address this challenge, we actively involve our students in hackathons, coding clubs, and real-world projects. These experiences cultivate problem-solving abilities and encourage them to think critically while working on complex issues.

How would you ensure that the college stays up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the technical education sector?

Staying current with the latest developments and trends in technical education is paramount. To achieve this, we engage both students and faculty in professional chapters and industry networks. By becoming active participants in these platforms, they gain exposure to cutting-edge practices, research, and innovations. This not only keeps the institution up-to-date but also enriches the teaching and learning experiences within the campus.

Are there career counselling and guidance services available to students to help them make informed career choices?

We have taken steps to offer comprehensive career counselling and guidance services to our students. We have established a dedicated cell in collaboration with the Telangana Government to assist students in making informed career choices. This initiative aims to empower our students with insights into various career paths, helping them align their aspirations with their strengths and opportunities.

How well is CMR Technical campus focusing on maintaining industry relationships with companies to leverage them for live projects, training, and placements for the students?

CMR Technical Campus places a strong emphasis on maintaining close ties with industries to benefit our students. Our approach involves moulding students to be industry-ready from day one. This is accomplished by designing the curriculum in alignment with industry needs, providing various training opportunities, tracking student progress on industry-relevant platforms, and promoting internships. This holistic approach ensures that our graduates are not only academically competent but also possess practical skills valued by employers.

Looking to the future, what are your aspirations and strategic goals for the academic growth and excellence of CMR Technical Campus for next 10 years?

Looking ahead to the next ten years, our strategic goals include further strengthening our alumni network, facilitating students' success in competitive exams, government positions, top multinational corporations, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship to contribute to the 'Make in India' initiative. We envision CMR Technical Campus as a hub of academic excellence, producing graduates who are not only technically proficient but also possess the skills and mindset to excel in a rapidly changing world.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

As Swamy Vivekananda rightly said “Arise, Awake and stop not still goal is reached.” Student must not stop till they achieve success in their career. Develop a learning mindset and keep upskilling yourself to keep growing.
