With a background in education, she holds a Master's degree in the field and has transitioned from being a teacher at a state government school to her current role as a faculty member and Assistant Professor at the college. Arijita currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the B.Ed. department and takes on the crucial role of Academic Coordinator for the same department, contributing significantly to the academic growth and development of the institution.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?
First and foremost, I serve as the faculty for the B.Ed. course, responsible for teaching the foundational and micro teaching papers, integral to the B.Ed. curriculum. Additionally, I hold the positions of Academic Coordinator and IQSC Coordinator. My responsibilities encompass a wide range, from overseeing the welfare of teachers and students to maintaining a disciplined college environment and ensuring compliance with institute norms. My focus is on the overall development of the institution, which, in turn, fosters self-development.
How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
Building healthy relationships within an institution is crucial for progressive educational activities. Both students and faculty members play essential roles in the educational process. To create a conducive atmosphere for effective learning, it is essential to establish positive relationships with students, not only within the classroom but also across the entire academic institution. Teachers must create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Such relationships lead to proper interaction, enhancing the student's ability to absorb knowledge. Additionally, maintaining healthy relationships among faculty members creates a positive, progressive environment within the institution, which is vital for all activities.
How do you help your students cope with the high competition in the outside world?
In our college, we offer a wide range of co-curricular activities that provide practical knowledge and build inherent qualities in our students. These activities are organized throughout the year, helping students develop their practical knowledge and hands-on experience. Our strong support system ensures students have the resources and guidance they need to face the challenges of the outside world. Through these activities, students can enhance their practical knowledge and gain the skills needed to cope with the high competition outside. Co-curricular activities also help students develop inherent qualities necessary for success in the competitive world.

How did you train or prepare yourself and faculty to deliver the program to the students?
As faculty, our primary responsibility is to provide proper instruction to our students. To fulfill this role, it is essential that our faculty members possess sound and up-to-date knowledge in their respective subjects. This equips them to effectively impart knowledge and meet the academic needs of our students. Staying updated with advancements in education is crucial. To integrate these advancements into our teaching methods, we actively participate in learning advanced techniques through regular meetings and seminars. These platforms facilitate the training and preparation of our faculty members, ensuring they provide relevant and effective education to our students.
How does the program ensure that students are prepared for the future?
The B.Ed. course is designed to prepare students who aspire to become future teachers. It equips them with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively teach their subjects to other students. Completion of the B.Ed. course enables students to pursue careers in teaching. It serves as a gateway for them to enter the teaching profession, providing opportunities and the necessary training to face the challenges of the future. The course helps students develop into effective educators, providing the training and understanding required for proficient teaching. Foundation papers in the B.Ed. curriculum lay the groundwork for further specialization, ensuring students gain essential knowledge in their chosen field. The program adheres to NCTE norms, guaranteeing that students receive quality education, preparing them for their future roles as teachers.
What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?
After completing a B.Ed. course, students can pursue careers as teachers in secondary and higher secondary schools. The B.Ed. degree has been made mandatory by the state government since 2015 for teachers working in schools. This course equips students with the training and knowledge necessary to excel as teachers, opening up numerous job opportunities in the teaching field. Additionally, students interested in further studies can pursue higher education options, such as an M.Ed. course and eventually a Ph.D. This can lead to becoming a college professor in any institution.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?
Firstly, as a teacher, I want to emphasize the importance of acquiring knowledge and ensuring that it is accurate and precise. Many individuals are educated, but their education lacks depth and quality, which is a significant challenge for society and our nation. This is one of the reasons our nation is still referred to as a developing country rather than a developed one. Therefore, my advice to students is not to pursue a degree for the sake of it but to strive for excellence. Learn with precision, regardless of your field of interest, and become a responsible individual who contributes to society's betterment.
