He has grown from the ranks right here in the institute, starting his teaching career as an Assistant Professor in 2006. He obtained his Graduation in 2003 from Siddharth College of Engineering, Vijayawada. He did his PG from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. In his impressive teaching and administrative career, he has consistently promoted innovative teaching practices and imaginative thinking. He has endeared himself to his students and colleagues alike through his affable nature and empathetic leadership style.

Being a HEAD OF DEPARTMENT of COLLEGE, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
As a Head of the Department, my primary responsibilities are to create a healthy environment, to support student development, and to support and encourage the students to participate in various types of events. Also, to manage the departmental resources efficiently and on par with Institutional policies.
How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
Building healthy relationships with the students and fellow faculty takes time but it helps a lot in the development of the department. For this, I follow some strategies like encouraging the students and faculty to come up with their queries, answering their queries with patience, communicating with them very transparently and, collecting feedback regularly, encouraging teamwork, etc.
How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?
Before designing and finalizing the curriculum taking the feedback from students, faculty, and industry personnel, based on their feedback the required practical subjects are incorporated in the curriculum is the major thing. Another thing is to enrich the knowledge of students and faculty, we planned to conduct one workshop for students and one faculty development program for faculty related to advanced technology each semester. We encourage the students towards internships also.
What are the best practices offered by the department to the students that help them gain the necessary skills?
Some of the best practices offered by the department that help to gain necessary skills are; an enriched curriculum, continuous support, guidance and encouragement for participating in various activities, mentoring, mandatory internship, workshops/ seminars/ guest lectures, etc., and campus recruitment training.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often does it get updated to make it befitting for the students?
Curriculum gets updated regularly i.e. minimum once in three years. Before these updates, we take the feedback and opinions from the existing students, industry persons, department advisory board, and eminent professors from IITs, NITs, and Universities.
What are your views on the placements and higher education about the students from your department or how does your department prepare students for Higher education?
In my view, both higher education and placements have equal importance. To support both of these some activities are undertaken by the department. Such as, for placements, our college starts campus recruitment training from 2nd year onwards. Beyond that, we also have special training for the advanced learners, which starts from 1st year onwards. For higher education, we conduct various career counseling programs.
How do you help your student to cope with the competition being so high in the outside world?
To empower the students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in the competitive world, we support the students by mentoring, career counseling, encouraging the students to participate in various events offered by other institutions, alumni engagement, offering resources to become entrepreneurs, etc.
Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?
Yes, as the Head of Department, I always encourage and support in conducting extracurricular activities and programs aimed at enhancing the skills of students and exposing them to real-world challenges. These extracurricular initiatives can complement the academic curriculum and provide valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth. Some examples of such activities and programs are conducting workshops, scheduling guest lecturers, scheduling seminars, conducting technical events, and encouraging students to complete NPTEL and other online certification.

How does the curriculum of your department/college ensure the best practice of the industry?
Apart from the University nominee, we include eminent personalities from IITs, NITS, software industry in the BoS. We incorporate the technologies in the curriculum based on the suggestions from the members. As industry persons are also in the BoS, based on their feedback we will fulfill the needs of the industry by including the related contents in the curriculum.
How does the department/ college/University enhance the skills of the faculty and prepare them according to the industry standards?
As a part of enhancing the skills of faculty and preparing them as per the industry standards, our department takes various initiatives like every faculty should complete at least one NPTEL in a year, organizing FDPS and financial support for attending workshops, seminars, fps, and paper publications, etc. These initiatives ultimately benefit both faculty members and students by ensuring a high-quality and industry-relevant educational experience.
What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from the curriculum to train/teach the students?
In addition to the curriculum, our department employs a variety of interventions and approaches to train and educate the students effectively. These include peer learning, flipped classrooms, experiential learning, cross-disciplinary electives, financial support for professional body membership extracurricular and co-curricular activities, etc.

Our department’s/ college’s strengths include qualified, experienced, and committed faculty, strategic planning, professional development, innovative curriculum, state-of-the-art laboratories, and transparency and communication
What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?
Some of the advice is that the goal should be clear, be disciplined, and maintain punctuality. Engage in continuous learning and put more concentration on practical learning. Participate in extra and co-curricular activities. Build a professional network. Maintain good relationships.
