You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I believe education plays a very important role in developing a nation. It is a platform available to me where I can guide students to build their careers. I have guided more than 10000 students in my career and indirectly contributed to the development of a sound society. I am happy about my work in this field and could motivate students that helped them to understand their responsibility towards family and society.

Being the Principal of Priyadarshini Bhagwati College of Engineering what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

I believe honest efforts taken in the right direction will always lead to a path towards your goal. It's my responsibility to fulfil the vision of Lokmanya Jankalyan Shikshan Sanstha where I am working. I think, being the head of an institution, it is my responsibility to look after the multidimensional growth of our students and for that, every person on the campus should have a positive attitude and approach. I am transparent and believe in sharing everything with colleagues. I take the opinion of my colleagues and we have a healthy team at our college. Rather than bossing them, I am like a mentor to my staff and students.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

We at Bhagwati Engineering College provides technical education to our students. Along with routine academic activities, we provide them with additional training supported by extracurricular activities, expert lectures, workshops, certificate courses, add-on courses. Any insights into how your university/college could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

In our college, we have a uniform system and hence there is no scope for any differentiation among students based on economic status. For us, they maybe from any religion or economic background, but they are our students. We believe that our students should also believe in humanity and must treat everyone with due respect and should have kindness towards every component of society.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

Being a sincere academician, I believe that for the growth of any institute, the role of head of the institution plays a very important role. Under the guidance of the management, I have successfully developed a good team of faculty members who have been devoting their services to the growth of the institute. I think students should get a fearless and transparent working environment that enables them to focus on study and they will be able to move ahead in life with confidence. My role has been to generate a sense of belongingness within the staff and students. There should be a bond of understanding and trust between faculty and students.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next ten years?

I am happy with the progress and our college to date. All faculty members are taking the required efforts in shaping the career of students. Many of our students are working with reputed organizations. I think after ten years, our college will be known for not only its academic excellence but also for training and for providing various skills that help students to move ahead in life. We expect to have very effective incubation centres, various start up’s and research centres.
