NRI Institute of Information Science

Being a Faculty of the Science Department at NRI Institute, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

My responsibility in electrical engineering education is to provide students with top-notch theoretical knowledge complemented by practical exposure. I aim to equip them with essential skills and insights vital for their academic and professional journey. Through innovative teaching methods, I foster a dynamic learning environment conducive to growth and development. My commitment lies in continually enhancing the educational experience to empower students as proficient problem solvers and future leaders in the field.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

We are always trying to help our students in matters related to their field of electrical engineering so that they can become the best in their field. Additionally, I cultivate strong bonds with both faculty members and students, considering them an integral part of our extended family. In times of need, I actively engage with them, demonstrating empathy by standing by their side and providing support tailored to their specific circumstances. By offering guidance during challenging periods, I contribute to their personal and professional development. Together, we operate as a cohesive team, ensuring that we possess the collective capacity to navigate and address any challenges that may arise effectively.

How are you trying to bring a practical approach toward your subject & make it industry oriented?

From time to time, we plan industrial visits for the students to organisations like Tawa Hydroelectric Power Plant, CG, and ISHER. We do these visits so that they can learn what really happens in a particular organisation and how things work in the field. It will also clear their theoretical knowledge in a better way, which will enhance their skills in the end.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

Every day, we emphasise to our students the intense competition present in both the job market and the government sector. We strive to support them comprehensively, addressing aspects such as educational patterns, current affairs, practical skills, and industrial visits. Our goal is to provide them with a well-rounded understanding of their domain, equipping them to excel and stand out as the best candidates in the market.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real world challenges?

We do provide extracurricular activities for our students. One of them is Vizio which is a renowned programs all over the MP. During this program we give the opportunity to the students to express their technical skills as well as their extracurricular skills with their sports skills too. There are also regular inter-college and intra-college academic and extracurricular competitions as well.

What are the challenges that you are facing to uplift the quality of education in your department?

Most of the time, we have to face problems related to the electrical maintenance of the whole building. Our members face difficulties due to this during practical training. It hampers and disrupts our time simultaneously. We are working for the same to provide and help the students during their practicals in a better manner.
