What are the latest programmes that the institute is offering?

My institution offers all emerging programmes, and 8 different kinds of diplomas, of them is Electronics and Communication Engineering(oldest), Computer Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information & Communication Technology, Renewable energy, Biomedical Engineering, Computer-aided costume design & dressmaking (only for girls)

What is unique about the institute?

It is a 75 years old institution, with a golden reputation in Electronics and communication, computer science engineering, and some other fields. AVPTI has a design and innovation center in its institute. It is the only diploma institute in Gujarat to have a design and innovation center. For motivating students they offer the SSIP programme (student start-up and innovation policy) offered by Govt. of Gujarat to all technical institutes. The design & innovation center is a combination of Gujarat Technological University & AVPTI to provide the working space for the start-up. Whatever funds are available to the institute, they offer that to students for their innovative projects.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Faculty training programme in prestigious institutes like NITTTR, NIT, career advancement schemes for the faculties.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program into your curriculum?  

When students join the course initially they are a little less competent to the demand of the course. And the drop-out ratio of the students is becoming more after the first year of joining these Engineering courses.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

After completion of 1st year, students can take up internship schemes for 15 days. Institute places the students across the Saurashtra region in various industries to get the benefit of technical skills in the industrial environment. Over and above frequent health-related programmes like yoga, various programs related to student health like Thalassemia, blood donation camp, cultural activities every year, sports week every year, and arrangements of frequent seminars to get the latest knowledge.
