Bennett University, a renowned educational institution known for its commitment to academic excellence and global engagement, recently played host to a significant event - a G20-themed workshop focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

New Delhi: Bennett University supported a one-day session titled "Challenges Towards Attaining Sustainable Development Goals - An Indian Perspective".
The speakers at the event gave talks on a range of subjects pertaining to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and India's role in achieving them.
Sasmit Patra, a Rajya Sabha member, Manoj Kumar Sinha, the director of ILI New Delhi (Deemed University), Simrit Kaur, the principal of Shri Ram College of Commerce, and K. K. Aggarwal, the founding vice chancellor of GGSIP University, Delhi and the former chairman of the National Board of Accreditation in Delhi, all attended the workshop, according to Bennett University.
According to the university, the workshop served as a forum for conversations, idea sharing, and teamwork on solutions to global concerns. The event's major goal was to highlight sustainable development.
In his assessment of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Sasmit Patra stressed "the value of global alliances (SDG 17), as well as the significance of promoting peaceful societies and creating strong institutions (SDG 16)."
He claimed that two models, the economic model and the human rights model would be used by India to fulfil the SDGs. The MP claims that the models follow the Indian Constitution's guiding principles, which address the human rights of underprivileged groups and solve economic issues.
The panel discussion, titled "Arohan India: One Health, One Family, One Future," was moderated by B K Thelma, professor of genetics at the University of Delhi and fellow with INSA; Shashi Kumar, from the ICGEB in New Delhi; and Arun Jagannath, from the department of plant science at the same university.
The panel, according to the institution, talked about the difficulties in achieving the SDGs. The emphasis was on G20-related research, thought leadership, and capacity-building projects. The panellists discussed how temperature affects the environment, how transgenic mustard plants are being developed, how genetic variety changes as people age, and how this affects their health, according to the university.
Ajith Abraham, pro vice-chancellor addressed the event and said, It is our primary responsibility as Indian citizens to support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and find new opportunities for future projects to boost India's economic growth while maintaining sustainability and social inclusion. As a country that is strongly committed to democracy and multilateralism, India's G20 Presidency would mark a turning point in its history. India wants to play a significant role by identifying practical global solutions for everyone's well-being and, in doing so, bring the true meaning of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or the "World is One Family" to life."
