IGNOU B.Ed. 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the IGNOU B.Ed. program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Academic Qualification: A minimum of 50% marks in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, or Humanities. For those with a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology (specializing in Science and Mathematics), the minimum requirement is 55% marks.
• Professional Requirements: Candidates must also fulfill one of the following:
  • Be a trained in-service teacher in elementary education.
  • Have completed an NCTE-recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode.
• Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in marks is provided for SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer), and PWD candidates as per Central Government rules.
• Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission to this program.

IGNOU B.Ed. 2026 Selection Process

• Entrance Test: Admission is merit-based, determined by an Entrance Test conducted nationwide.
• Merit List: A merit list will be prepared by the respective Nodal Regional Centres.
