Several interrelated factors shape the final XAT cutoffs each year, including the total number of candidates appearing for the examination, the relative difficulty level of the test paper, and the availability of seats across programs.

XLRI Jamshedpur has released the XAT 2026 cutoffs for its flagship PGDM-BM and PGDM-HRM programs. The announcement comes after the scorecard release on January 16, 2026, and reveals a significant shift in the institute’s selection strategy. Most notably, the overall cutoff for the Business Management (BM) program has dropped to 94 percentile, a decrease from the 96th percentile in previous years.
For the 2026 admission cycle, XLRI Jamshedpur has introduced a unified cutoff for both engineering and non-engineering candidates in the BM program, simplifying the requirements across academic streams. However, the HRM program continues to maintain diversity-based benchmarks, with the overall cutoff for non-engineering females reduced to 84 percentile to encourage a more inclusive classroom environment. Applicable for XLRI Delhi-NCR campus as well.

The XAT 2026 trends indicate a broader accessibility for candidates as percentiles have eased across almost all categories. While the XLRI PGDM (BM) & PGDM (BM-INTERNATIONAL SPECIALIZATION) programs have standardized scores across streams, the HRM program remains a bastion for academic diversity by providing lower thresholds for non-engineering candidates. Shortlisted candidates are now required to submit their Statement of Purpose (SoP) between January 31 and February 02, 2026, followed by slot booking for the Personal Interview (PI) rounds, which will take place throughout February and March.
