  • For accommodation, if you want to live in the student dorms, you can apply via vssw site but apply as soon as possible, as it takes a lot of time to get a dorm in the university itself. You can also go for sublets if you don't get any contract from vssw.
  • The monthly rent for accommodation is 375 euros ± 25 euros, depending on which dorm you take. The challenge is it takes a lot of time to get a dorm. The student dorms are just a 10-minute walk from the campus.

  • I have used the VSSW portal to apply for the accommodation. Students can also use the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart website for finding accommodation.
  • The monthly rent for my accommodation is 350 Euros and a separate fee of 9 euros for wifi. the facilities include a private room with a shared kitchen and washrooms.
  • The waiting list for accommodation is long and it takes a long time to get a dorm allocated. It's better to apply as early as possible.
  • I would suggest students apply on both the VSSW and Studierendenwerk Stuttgart websites for accommodation. Apply for all the dorms initially; once you get allocated a dorm and if they don't find it to their liking, they can change the dorm after coming here. Also look for sublets from other students in case you don't find accommodation.
  • My dormitory is inside the Campus and I just need to walk 5 minutes to get to the classrooms. Most Indian students stay in the dorms inside the campus, mainly in Allmandring.

  • I found the accommodation by applying for a room on the official website of Studierendenwerk. The info and link for the same were provided by my university itself.
  • The monthly rent was 320 euros in the beginning with a deposit of 400 euros. It included an individual room in a shared apartment for four people. It came with a common kitchen and dining area, common Toilet/bathrooms and a common storage area in the basement.
  • Due to the information provided by the university, I had no challenges in finding accommodation.
  • Try to get accommodation through official channels like the portals provided by Studierendenwerk or VSSW. In case of unavailability of rooms, you can look for sublet/temporary options on various whatsapp/facebook groups created for the same
  • The accommodation is literally 8-10 mins away from campus on foot. And most of the international/Indian students live here in the vicinity (Landmark/street name: Allmandring)

  • I stayed in a student accommodation near the campus. There are portals and websites to apply for this cheap accommodation. Monthly rent is around 300 - 350 euros including all amenities.
  • There was no challenges, there are lot of rooms here for students. You just need to apply 2-3 months prior before coming to Germany and you will get a good room in time. The room is just 10 minutes walk away from the University buildings.

I chose this University because companies give preference if passed out from this university as it is quite reputed and also Stuttgart is known for its industries hence getting a work is easier.

Overall, I had a fun time and experience meeting new people from different culture. Learning new things in and out of my course. Master thesis period was the hardest and I had friends and family who supported me during this course. Learned a lot during the first year and the load was not so high during the consecutive years. Exams are bit different and tough for the first time. Everyone from my course managed and landed on a job.

The experience was overall very positive. Social life in European countries in general isn't alike as in India. Also as I started my masters during COVID period, so it definitely affected my mental state. But from a perspective of a student, my masters has enabled in all aspects to learn the different techniques, skills.

It is really good. Initially, I was not accustomed to the exam pattern but eventually I got used to it. The education is very practical with the grip of basic concepts. I still feel I am not using the facilities to the limit I should be using it but I am trying my level best. Finally, I am trying my best to make this learning process not same as my B.tech as it was only about passing the exams. Here, I want to look towards gaining proper skills.
