  • Studierendenwerk Stuttgart is an official organisation that offers on-campus accommodations depending on availability.
  • Another popular option is WG Gesucht.
  • Accommodation I received was a 4-sharing apartment with a private room on campus.
  • Monthly rent: 350-400 (increasing every year)
  • Includes all utilities like heat, electricity and water.
  • Since I applied quite early, I got accommodation easily through them.
  • Recommendations: As soon as you have the university admit you, you should apply for accommodation at their website. This will be the cheapest and nearest to the university.

  • I found the accommodation by applying for a room on the official website of Studierendenwerk. The info and link for the same were provided by my university itself.
  • The monthly rent was 320 euros in the beginning with a deposit of 400 euros. It included an individual room in a shared apartment for four people. It came with a common kitchen and dining area, common Toilet/bathrooms and a common storage area in the basement.
  • Due to the information provided by the university, I had no challenges in finding accommodation.
  • Try to get accommodation through official channels like the portals provided by Studierendenwerk or VSSW. In case of unavailability of rooms, you can look for sublet/temporary options on various whatsapp/facebook groups created for the same
  • The accommodation is literally 8-10 mins away from campus on foot. And most of the international/Indian students live here in the vicinity (Landmark/street name: Allmandring)

  • I chose on-campus accommodation, and that's what I would recommend.
  • I feel my University has the best accommodation system for Students that you can find in Germany.
  • On Average the monthly rent is about 350 Euros depending on what kind of room you get.
  • You just have to apply on Time and you can get into the accommodation pretty easily. I would recommend applying for the accommodation around 4 months before coming here.
  • My accommodation is like a 5-minute walk from the university. Most of the Indians stay in on On-campus accommodations.

  • Accommodation—Student Dorms managed by the respective city's Studentenwerk. Social groups on Facebook also helped, like 'Indians in Stuttgart' or 'Bharat in Germany.'  Accommodation is on campus for me, with a lot of indian students living in the dorms.
  • Monthly Rent—280 to 420 Euros.
  • Challenges—Long waitlist— Apply very early, but it is limited by when you get admitted. Follow up with the dorm management every month for an update.

The major factor was the location of the university and the opportunities to work during and after studies. The university has a decent amount of courses to select from and offers a variety of them. The best part is that there are a lot of student positions within the university to help fund yourself. So, the experience has been good, and they offer various other networking events.

  • There are many facilities including single and shared rooms in university dormitories. The shared ones cost 332 euros per month whereas single rooms cost approximately 360 euros. Apartments outside the university cost around 500-600 euros per month.

  • I opted for on-campus accommodation through VSSW (Verein Stuttgarter Studentenwohnheime) - specifically for students and is quite popular among international students, especially Indians.

  • I applied directly on the VSSW website after getting my admission. My rent at VSSW is €347 per month

  • Facilities:
    *A furnished single room
    *Shared kitchen and bathroom.
    *Heating, electricity, and water bills.

  • My accommodation is 10 mins away from the college (walking)

Overall, I had a fun time and experience meeting new people from different culture. Learning new things in and out of my course. Master thesis period was the hardest and I had friends and family who supported me during this course. Learned a lot during the first year and the load was not so high during the consecutive years. Exams are bit different and tough for the first time. Everyone from my course managed and landed on a job.

The University is more than what I expected. Be it with respect to course, accommodation, city etc, everything was just super. Also coming a new country with its own culture and language helps the student to come out of his/her comfort zone and also develops the soft skills.
