Required Exams for Admission
The major factor was the location of the university and the opportunities to work during and after studies. The university has a decent amount of courses to select from and offers a variety of them. The best part is that there are a lot of student positions within the university to help fund yourself. So, the experience has been good, and they offer various other networking events.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum is taught by professors who are researchers as well of the respective departments. So naturally it is more research-based and based on the latest findings up to the previous decade.
Faculty
All the faculty members are post-doc people who are continuously doing research. So they are quite equipped with the latest developments in the fields. The tutors assigned for exercise sessions are PhD students. All of them are very relaxed and friendly, they would never mind being approached anytime.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty relaxed, the majority of the people are chill and are from various parts of the world. The department organizes various events to familiarize with the department coordinators and other students. The campus has decent libraries where you can find the reference books suggested by professors. They also have a sports club that you can sign up for at the start of each semester. WiFi is available at all times on campus. Also, there is a general store if you need anything quick.
Placement
As with other international universities, there are no campus placements. But there are a lot of job fairs where companies visit and you can get to know what all companies are hiring. There are also opportunities for student jobs here. The average salary would be around 55K euros.
Accommodation
There are multiple options to choose from for accommodation. Studierendenwerk and VSSW are the two main bodies that provide student hostels. There is an option to get a single room with all facilities (personal toilet, kitchen) and also get a room in a shared apartment. The average rent is around 350 euros.
Exams
- My TOEFL 109/120, required score was 90. - 10th SSC - 92%; 12th HSC - 91%; BE VES Institute of Technology - 9.5/10 - Requirements: I simply needed two LoRs which I got from the professors who mentored me in the project. In the SoP mention about yourself and your interests, your plans, and how they align with the course. I did not require an interview.
