The DAAD Ph.D. scholarship, available from 2016 to present, provides recipients with a monthly stipend of 1200 Euros, in addition to insurance and other benefits. Applications must be submitted to the DAAD office in New Delhi and include several components: an application form, a research proposal developed with a prospective German supervisor, academic transcripts for Master's and Bachelor's degrees, a CV, a letter of acceptance from a German university professor, certificates of achievements, and reference letters.
After submission, applications are reviewed by the DAAD in Germany. Selected candidates are invited for an interview, with results announced several weeks afterward. Applications are open from September to October, and selections are finalized by March of the following year.
