- An entire semester is dedicated to research, and it greatly helped me expand my career and pursue a PhD.
- As my program was solely research-based, I gained valuable exposure to my field of interest and research.
- Students are welcome to take on projects and theses offered by the professors during the course, which will make them well prepared for full-time opportunities after the course.
- Campus Life is very lively here with lots of activities taking place that allow us to meet new people and engage with them.
- The Studentenwerk/Student Accommodation is well maintained and mostly very close to the university with affordable rates.
- Although there is a per-semester fee contribution of about 300 Euros, which includes a student semester ticket for free usage of public transport, and also free usage of rental bikes for an hour.
- Each student has an assigned mentor throughout the course, which is great in case of any questions.
- Well-structured with great international exposure (~34,000 students), excellent research facilities, and a friendly environment.

- The university is one of the TU-9 (elite) universities of Germany with world ranking also around 160-170 (it fluctuates). On top of that the course was something I always wanted to study with a possibility to explore multidisciplinary fields. null
- It is in the centre of the city with magnificient infrastructure and state of the art laboratories. The level of education is also excellent with extremely helpful academic as well as technical staffs. There are a lot of co-curricular as well as other opportunities. TUD have collaborations with universities all across the world which makes it very efficient for exchange programs to and from the university. null
Dislikes:
- This is mainly true for my department (hydroscience). When it comes to grading, they are very peculiar towards it. But this can be a good thing if you want to improve yourself as it will award you later on. null
Overall, it has been a wonderful experience at TUD. I had a lot of expectations while coming to the University for my masters and having almost done with the course, I can comfortably say that almost all my expectations have been met , with some even exceeded. I made a lot of friends from all parts of the world, attended countless seminars across the continent and met a lot of important people in my field and in general. If academic excellence is your goal and you want to improve yourself, this is certainly one of the place to be.

- The CMS program is one of the most interdisciplinary programs out there. I come from a background of Physics and wanted to transition towards Computers and this was ideal for me. TUD is one of the 11 universities of excellence in Germany and highly ranked. null
- Infrastructure. Dresden is a small city and TUD has relatively very good infrastructure. The research in the field of Bioinformatics is incredible there. Thus, anyone who wants to combine CS and Biology would love to study here. The faculty of Informatics is also quite advanced in the study of XR related fields such as VR and AR. The university offers free German courses to all students which is incredible as most universities in Germany do not offer such free courses. null
Dislikes:
- TU Dresden has some extremely restrictive rules and bureaucracy which results in many things becoming way harder than they need to be. For example there is a course called Philosophy of Good Scientific practices. The rules of the course require you to attend each and every class until your group is called for presentation. This means a student cannot do an internship or semester abroad or plan any trip outside Dresden as long as this course is going on. Although the university has many international students, still most events are in German which restricts the international community from taking part in them. null
My experience at TU Dresden has been mixed. Though there are some beautiful things about Dresden and TUD, it does lack in certain areas and there is improvement to be done. Nevertheless, as one lives in Germany, it not that much of a rat race and everyone does their Master's at their own pace. Which is better in many ways.

- It was the unique and interdisciplinary subject I got to chose and TU Dresden being one of the best when it comes to Computer Science oriented subjects. I wanted to shift to more computational side of things in Biology/Chemistry from just pure experimental stuff and TU Dresden provided me a perfect opportunity to do so. null
- An ample amount of opportunities and the freedom to steer your education in the direction you want. Professors are supportive and very much approachable for anything you would need. A huge international crowd where you feel at home away from home but mostly for me, it is about the freedom I have with regards to everything that is selecting courses, doing projects in any direction I want to and so on and so forth. null
Dislikes:
- There is not much to be disliked about the university. Maybe there should be a standardisation of the difficulty level of subjects and the exams because each subject can feel very different in terms of difficulty. null
The defining experience of my life and the time where I think I have grown the most. I have experienced an exponential growth academically and professionally. And personally, being in a new country, working and managing everything on your own makes you grow on a personal level as well equally. Nothing is easy, but it surely is rewarding.

- TU Dresden is located in the state of Saxony which hosts "Silicon Saxony" - a large cluster of companies based on the Semiconductor industry. This paves the way for a wide variety of jobs and potential startups. null
- Hence, the job market for electronics-oriented aspirants or students is very large and more or less always open. The university includes start-of-the-art research centres and laboratories. Courses tailored for specializing in a certain domain are being offered. TU Dresden's Research institutes are quite popular in the semiconductor fabrication industry. null
Dislikes:
- Nothing too serious. Language barrier is often an issue. Proficiency in German language is often needed. There are a few elective courses being offered only in German. But, if the degree program is completely based on English, a new student cans till get away. null
Pretty good. Had no sorts of issues in the area of academics. People very enthusiastic about electronics could be benefitted well in this university.

- It's public university means no tution fee there is only semester fee which is very negligible. There are many opportunities available after the masters course and also this course designed in a such a way that it will make you ready for a future opportunities weather it is in a research filled or in a corporate filed .
Dislikes:
- Few things I don't like is average duration of the course is 2.5 years although it's 2 years course but most of the students not able to finish in 2 year because there are lots of things student have to manage so. null

Dislikes:
- The procedure to register and process requests is a bit time taking. More than the university, I believe it is an overall issue observed within Germany. Be prepared for this before you plan to move to Dresden. null
Overall it is a wonderful multicultural experience. It is a bit weird in the initial days as you try to sink into the environment here. Once you are in the mode, it is very comfortable.
