Technical University Dresden (TU Dresden) Rankings 2025

Everyone in my class found jobs immediately (within 6 months). Most of them went to do PhDs. They are doing in the best univerisities of the world (EPFL, ETHZ, TU Delft, VU Amsterdam, MPIs, etc). People who went to industries earn around 50k euros per annum. They are into R&D of the company or Scientific sales representatives.

The experience in TU Dresden was the best. Especially when I already knew that I wanted to do a PhD, the program prepared me well. It was very cheap compared to US or any other part of the world. I didn't have to take money from my parents. I was self sufficient.

I haven't finished my studies yet, but students can except an average salary of around 35000-40000 euros annually.

The onboarding to the university is very smooth and the course is very informational. The teachers are well versed and up-to-date with the latest research in their area of expertise.

The placement and postdoc/PhD opportunities are immense here but they are all in the hands of the students as they have to apply and seek these out for themselves.

Overall I feel the university as well as this place is very welcoming to me and my interests. Outside academic life this is culturally also a great place to live in.

Mostly students tend to go for full-time opportunities after graduation. Some tend to take the next steps in the academic field by doing PhDs. There isn't the concept of placements at the university level. But there are numerous company visits offered by the university which helps students in understanding the projects and facilities at companies in the semiconductor industry. Students take up technical part-time jobs at the university or private firms during the course or take a semester-break for internship to earn experience in their preferred field of interests. Students are welcome to take up projects and thesis offered under the professors during the course which makes them well prepared for a full-time opportunity after the course. This placement concept applies to most of the technical universities in Germany.

I love my university, TU Dresden and is grateful for the opportunities it has given me. The university has a wonderful library located next to it. Students have access to a lot of events and activities at the university. The professors and faculty members are well-versed in their fields with interesting research taking place in the background where students can contribute too. Students can stay at student dorms provided by the university at lower rents compared to outside. The university is located at Dresden in the state of Saxony where history and industry thrive. Additionally, the cost of living is comparatively lower at Dresden than other popular cities in Germany. I totally recommend the master's program of nanoelectronic systems to all those seeking a good career in the semiconductor industry.

There is no such things like a campus placement in Germany. The University will conduct a Job Fair, where the companies will setup their stalls. Students can participate and network with the company representatives and work together for a prospective opportunity with them.

TU Dresden was the most informed decision i have taken in my career and it proved to be right. The experience, both academic and personal was the best I have come across in my life with great support from well knowledge staffs and world class research facilities. Culturally, Dresden is a rich place with a lot of opportunities to indulge yourself in various activities. Personally, I loved living in such a city. After my course, I received PhD offers from University of Auckland (New Zealand), University of Vienna (Austria), Cranfield University (UK), and KU Leuven (Belgium) with generous salary. The position at KU Leuven was a Marie Curie Fellowship which offered me 2.6 crore INR for 3 years.

Didn't opt for the placement. Don't know much about it. My colleagues tried various approaches. Job fair was organised by the university for students. Also students took off campus placements too after completion of the course. Few got pre placements offers from the industry. Most of the masters student opted for PhD abroad in prestigious universities.

It's was overall an enthralling experience. New people, culture, environment and research group. Enjoyed my stay there and travelled across whole of europe ( around 15 countries).

Since my course is research based, a doctoral degree further or finding a research position is relatively easy. One can also find opportunities otherwise with the help of career service from the university.

Well structured with great international exposure (~ 34000 students), excellent research facilities and friendly environment.

I am not sure about the placement of students in companies and their salary as many of them prefer phD after studies. But there is a great number of labs that are taking in students for phD (which is also considered a job in Germany). The average salary is around 4000 euros per month (before tax). While they do provide help in finding a job and all, unlike India they don't have specialised placement cells or placement drives.

Overall, TU Dresden is a wonderful university with a truly international student population, providing affordable education to aspiring researchers and engineers, while not compromising on the quality.

There's no concept of 'campus placement' here. Yearly there's a job fair where you could speak to company representatives about opportunities. The salary (net) would range anywhere between 1800-2900 EUR per month in Germany.

It is located in a city which is student friendly meaning the cost of living is very affordable. There are various student clubs and activities, sport facilities, and quite a few canteens. The weather is not so extreme compared to nordic countries especially during winters. The summer is the best time here.

Post study opportunities are very much but unless and until the person should be willing to relocate and able to find the opportunities.

My experience for first year was amazing the best life which I had in my career. But second half It was worst because I had to write two research paper to get my degree. Research paper are not so easy task . They had lots of pressure , mind storming sessions and les guidance. So it was challenging and worth to get the degree at TUD Germany.
