An academic life at RWTH Aachen University

I applied to the following universities: NYU - Admitted RWTH Aachen - Admitted Texas A&M - Admitted Columbia – Rejected, due to low GRE and academics. U Maryland - Rejected due to low GRE and academics. UC San Diego - Rejected due to low GRE and academics. UT Austin - Rejected due to low GRE and academics. None of the rejected universities gave a clear answer as to why I was rejected, but it was probably academics. This was the only university in Germany I applied for, and my GRE (325/340) affected this surely. The process is simpler than American universities, and it's also free. There's a single portal with all details. The eligibility criteria here is not very clear, but a GRE of 315+ should work, as well as good academics (8.0+ GPA). Work experience also matters, so 2 years of work experience can help. The overall admission process is smooth, but the visa process can be challenging, so one should start as early as possible. I have applied to two universities, RWTH AACHEN UNIVERSITY and TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH; I got confirmed from RWTH Aachen University. I applied to most of the technical universities in germany and got selected in pretty much all of the universities where the cutoff or the eligibility criteria was met. I got offers from Saarland, TU Kaiserslautern and RWTH Aachen University. I got rejection from TUM and TU Berlin. I got rejected because the courses I applied to demanded higher scores in GRE. I chose RWTH aachen university because it is considered a prime university and ranks in the top 10 in Germany. Also, I had friends who were studying there who recommended it to me. The admission process was straightforward and one can apply directly by uploading the necessary documents, which include the GRE and TOEFL/IELTS scorecards along with university qualification documents and personal identification documents. I need to fulfill the TOEFL(min. 90) and GRE score criteria (min. 145/160/3 for verbal/quant and analytical writing respectively)  b. For my course, there was a requirement of min. 2 years of work experience  c. 2 LORs (preferably one from workplace and one from bachelor's university)  d. Statement of purpose (SOP)  e. I shortlisted 7 universities, I applied to 5 universities, 3 Got Rejected, 2 Got Admitted. These are the colleges that got admitted from RWTH Aachen University and University of Technology Nuremberg. I was rejected in TU Dortmund, Friedrich Alexander University Nuremberg, University of Hamburg. The rejection reasons were insufficient ECTS, unable to clear the entrance exam, and more applicants were applied to the same program. Firstly, the ranking was very good according to QS world 2025 stats. And the research is going good. Apply as early as possible, Submission of English proficiency and GRE and APS certificate is mandatory along with undergraduate transcripts. The eligibility criteria is <2.5 GPA, 7 or 95 in IELTS or TOEFL, GRE must be 155+ in verbal, 160+ in Quant, 3 + in AWA. And Moreover my degree needs 12 months of experience in relevant field. It was great but the catch is to write a Motivation Letter efficiently, and maintaining a good profile will make the universities to choose. Applied to 9 universities. Admitted in 4, rejected in 2 universities and did not receive a reply from others. Received confirmed admission from, RWTH Aachen, TU Siegen, Schmalkalden, TU Chemnitz. Rejected from TUHH, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, RWU. Got rejected from TUHH due to error in the application form. Not sure about the rejection from other 2 universities, probably due to etc credits or credits for specific subjects not tallying. Choose RWTH due to its course structure and university ranking and industry connections. Admission process: Fill out the online application form form the university website in detail accurately, wait for the confirmation, when got accepted, either you accept it or reject it (i got a one month period for that) post which in 2 weeks time had to pay the tuition fees. Eligibility criteria for RWTH: IELTS - 6.5, GRE 310 (165 quants, 145 english, 3 in the essay). The overall admission process is easy and very simple once u have all the documents ready with you. I applied in Winter Intake 2024 for which I successfully received the admission as well. Their technical expertise in certain domains is unparalleled. The reason for choosing Germany over the UK was the financial difficulties in the UK currently. After receiving the letter of admission, I had 4 weeks to sign and submit the contract. It was very smooth. Once they received the contract, they gave me another 4 weeks to make the first-semester payment. This too was smooth. Following this they helped me with the onboarding by organising student meet-ups. Eligibility criteria - IELTS> 7.0 Overall smooth experience-Winter intake - Semester starting in September.
