What is TS EAMCET 2026?

TS EAMCET 2026 — the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test — is a state-level entrance exam for undergraduate professional courses in Telangana. It is now officially called TG EAPCET 2026 (Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test). JNTU Hyderabad conducts it on behalf of TSCHE (Telangana State Council of Higher Education).

The exam has two separate streams. The Engineering stream is for MPC (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) students and opens entry to B.Tech and B.E. programmes across 290+ colleges in Telangana. The Agriculture and Pharmacy (A&P) stream is for BiPC (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) students and covers B.Pharmacy, Pharm-D, B.Sc Agriculture, B.Sc Horticulture, B.V.Sc, and Fishery Science (B.F.Sc) courses.

More than 3 lakh candidates registered for TS EAMCET 2026 across both streams, making it one of the most competitive state-level entrance exams in South India. The exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with 160 MCQ questions, 160 marks, and a 3-hour duration. There is no negative marking — so you should attempt every question. From 2026, the rank is based entirely on the EAPCET exam score; the earlier 25% weightage given to Intermediate board (IPE) marks has been removed.

TS EAMCET 2026 Marks vs Rank Analysis

Your TS EAMCET 2026 rank depends entirely on your total score out of 160, since IPE board marks are no longer counted from this year. The table below gives estimated rank ranges based on previous year trends, adjusted for the new 100% EAPCET-based ranking system.

TS EAMCET 2026 Expected Marks vs Rank — Engineering Stream

Marks Scored (out of 160) Expected Rank Range Performance Level
145 - 160 1 - 100 State Topper Level
130 - 144 100 - 500 Excellent
115 - 129 500 - 2,000 Very Good
100 - 114 2,000 - 6,000 Good
85 - 99 6,000 - 15,000 Above Average
70 - 84 15,000 - 30,000 Average
55 - 69 30,000 - 55,000 Below Average
40 - 54 55,000 - 80,000 Qualifying Range
Below 40 Not Qualified (OC/BC/EWS)

Note: These are estimated ranges based on previous year data. Since 2026 rank is based on 100% EAPCET score (with IPE weightage removed), the rank distribution may shift slightly compared to earlier years. Actual ranks depend on the overall performance of all candidates in 2026.

For CSE admission at top Hyderabad colleges like JNTUH CE, you generally need a rank under 1,500-2,000 (OC category). For mid-tier reputed private colleges, ranks between 5,000 and 15,000 are competitive. Ranks up to 80,000-1,00,000 can get seats in non-CSE branches at colleges outside Hyderabad.

TS EAMCET 2026 Cutoff

There are two types of cutoffs in TS EAMCET. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum marks you need to get a rank and become eligible for counselling. The admission cutoff (closing rank) is the last rank at which a specific college-course combination fills up during counselling. These two are different — qualifying does not guarantee admission to a good college.

The qualifying cutoff for TS EAMCET 2026 is 40 marks out of 160 for OC and BC categories. SC and ST candidates have no minimum qualifying marks. The admission cutoffs will be released after each counselling round, starting with Phase 1 allotment expected by July 10, 2026.

TS EAMCET 2024 Closing Ranks — Top Engineering Colleges (OC Category)

The table below shows 2024 closing ranks for reference. Actual 2026 cutoffs will be released during counselling — the new 100% EAPCET ranking system may cause some shifts in cutoff ranks compared to 2024 and 2025.

  • Step 3 — Attend Certificate Verification: Visit the designated help centre on your booked date with all original documents. Officials verify your eligibility, category certificates, and Telangana local area proof. This step is mandatory — no candidate can be considered for seat allotment without certificate verification.
  • Step 4 — Web Options Entry: From June 25 to July 1, 2026, log in and enter your preferred college-course combinations. You can enter up to 200 options. Rank your options from most preferred (Option 1) to least preferred (Option 200). Options are final after submission — review carefully before locking.
  • Step 5 — Seat Allotment: TSCHE processes all submitted options against available seats, ranks, and category reservations. Phase 1 allotment result is expected by July 10, 2026.
  • Step 6 — Download Allotment Order and Report to College: If allotted a seat, download the allotment order from the portal. Report to the college within the stipulated window with original documents and first-year fees to confirm your admission.

Not attending certificate verification will disqualify you from Phase 1 seat allotment. If you miss Phase 1, you can still participate in Phase 2 — but Phase 2 seats are from leftover vacancies, so options narrow significantly.

How Many Counselling Rounds are There?

TS EAMCET counselling typically has 3 main rounds followed by a special or mop-up round for remaining vacancies. After the main rounds, TSCHE also conducts internal sliding — where candidates already allotted a seat can be moved to a higher-preference option if a vacancy opens up in that option. After sliding, spot admissions are held for any still-vacant seats.

You do not need to attend certificate verification again for Phase 2 or Phase 3 if you completed it in Phase 1. Web options entry opens fresh for each subsequent phase, and you can revise your preferences.

How to Prepare for TS EAMCET

TS EAMCET preparation should start with the Telangana Intermediate textbooks (Class 11 and 12). The exam is closely modelled on the state board curriculum, and mastering your textbooks is the single most effective step. Use NCERT and reference books for conceptual clarity once you have covered the textbooks.

Subject-Wise Strategy

  • Mathematics (80 marks — Engineering): Maths carries 50% of total marks — it is the most important section. Focus on Calculus (differentiation + integration applications), Coordinate Geometry (circles, conic sections), and Algebra. Solve 30-40 problems daily. Previous year paper analysis shows that Calculus and Coordinate Geometry together contribute around 40-45% of Mathematics questions.
  • Biology (80 marks — Agriculture & Pharmacy): Botany and Zoology together are the most important subjects for BiPC students. Read Telangana Intermediate textbooks chapter by chapter. Focus on Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Genetics, and Ecology — these chapters are asked consistently every year.
  • Physics (40 marks — both streams): Mechanics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, and Modern Physics are high-weightage areas. Practice numericals from your state board books. Many Physics questions are formula-based — know your formulae well.
  • Chemistry (40 marks — both streams): Organic Chemistry, Chemical Bonding, and Electrochemistry carry the most questions. NCERT Chemistry is the best resource — it is comprehensive and matches the question pattern well.

Recommended Books for TS EAMCET

Subject Recommended Books
Mathematics TS Intermediate Textbooks (Vol 1 & 2); Arihant EAPCET Maths Objective; Deepthi Series Mathematics
Physics TS Intermediate Textbooks; Telugu Academy Physics; H.C. Verma Concepts of Physics (select chapters)
Chemistry NCERT Chemistry Class 11 & 12; O.P. Tandon (Physical and Inorganic); Arihant EAPCET Objective Chemistry
