SNAP Cutoff vs Marks

The SNAP 2025 Score vs Percentile analysis shows that even a small difference in marks can make a huge difference in percentile, sepecially in the higher percentile.

  • A score of 50 marks, which is nearly perfect, equates to 99.99 percentile, and even dropping just 5 marks to 45 marks reduces the percentile to 99.82, indicating extremely strong competition among high scorers.
  • A score range of 40–42 mark scores lie in the 98–99 percentile bracket, which is more or less taken to be the threshold for entry into best institutes such as SIBM Pune and SCMHRD.
  • A score of 35 marks will place you approximately a 92 percentile which is ideal for mid-tier Symbiosis institutions.
  • The steep percentile decline below 33 marks (87 percentile) shows the competitive environment of the test in which each and every mark can significantly change one's position and B-school worthiness.

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes).

Score vs Percentile Estimation

SNAP 2024 Score Expected Percentile Insights
130-150 99.8 - 100 Candidates in this range will likely secure top-tier institutes like SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune, etc.
120-129 98 - 99.5 This range is competitive for institutes like SIIB Pune, SITM Pune, and SSBM Pune.
110-119 95 - 97 Suitable for candidates targeting institutes like SIMS Pune and SITM Pune.
100-109 90 - 94 This range may still provide access to institutes like SSBM Pune and SIMS Pune but may require additional rounds (PI/GD).
90-99 85 - 89 This is a competitive score for SIMS Pune and other institutes with lower cutoff requirements.
Below 90 Below 85 A score below this will require excellent performance in GD-PI-WAT rounds for further consideration.

To better understand how your score translates to percentiles, explore the SNAP Score vs Percentile Insights on Collegedunia.

  • Top Performers (130-150): Achieving a score between 130 and 150 can place you in the 99.8-100 percentile range, which will almost certainly get you into top institutes like SIBM Pune or SCMHRD Pune.
  • Good Score Range (120-129): A score in the range of 120-129 would give you a strong chance for institutes like SIIB Pune, SITM Pune, and SSBM Pune, with a percentile range between 98-99.5.
  • Moderate Score Range (110-119): Candidates scoring 110-119 will land within the 95-97 percentile range. While it’s a decent score, it is often competitive for SIMS Pune and some newer or smaller Symbiosis institutes.
  • Lower Percentiles (Below 90): Scores falling below 90 tend to result in percentiles below 85, and it would be difficult to gain admission to the more sought-after Symbiosis institutes unless performance in GD-PI-WAT is exceptional.

Previous Years' SNAP Cutoff Percentile (2023, 2022, 2021, 2020)

Understanding the SNAP cutoff trends over the last few years can help you set realistic expectations for SNAP 2024. The cutoff percentile varies based on several factors, such as the number of candidates, the exam difficulty level, and the number of available seats. Let’s analyze the SNAP cutoff percentile data from previous years and provide insights on the expected trend for 2024.

SNAP Cutoff Percentile Analysis (2020-2023)

SIBM Pune traditionally has the highest cutoff, generally around 98-99+ percentiles, as it's a brand name and commands a strong reputation. SCMHRD Pune is at the close second position with a cutoff around 96-98 percentiles, which has shown year-on-year demand. SIIB Pune is slightly lower down but still has a competitive cutoff of 94-96 percentiles, making it relatively slightly more accessible than the higher-tier institutes. SITM Pune and SIMS Pune have observed minor changes in their cutoffs, which tend to lie in the range of 90-92 percentile and 85-88 percentile, respectively. On the other hand, SSBM Pune has a cutoff of approximately 85-90 percentile, which suggests that it is a newer or smaller institute.

Below is the detailed analysis of the SNAP cutoff percentile for top Symbiosis institutes over the last four years:

Is 30 a Good Score in SNAP?

A score of 30 will likely place you in a very low percentile, far below the cutoff for top-tier institutes like SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune. Based on previous years' data and the scoring system, you can expect the following:

  • A score of 30 typically results in a percentile below 50, possibly even lower.
  • Percentiles in the range of 40-45 are possible with a score of 25 (depending on the total number of candidates and the difficulty level of the exam).

Expected Percentile for Score of 30

Below is a rough estimate based on the SNAP scoring pattern and percentiles from past years.

SNAP Score Expected Percentile Performance Insights
30 40-45 Likely to be below the cutoff for all top institutes, but might still be eligible for lower-tier institutes with a good performance in GD-PI-WAT.
  • Top Institutes: A score of 30 will likely not be sufficient for admission to top-tier institutes like SIBM Pune or SCMHRD Pune, where cutoffs typically start at 98+ percentile (requiring scores in the 130-150 range).
  • Mid-Tier Institutes: A score of 30 will probably be far below the required percentile for mid-tier institutes like SIIB Pune and SITM Pune (cutoff around 90-96 percentile). You would need a score of at least 100-110 to be competitive for these institutes.
  • Lower-Tier Institutes: You may have a slim chance for institutes with lower cutoffs, like SIMS Pune or SSBM Pune, where cutoffs range from 85-90 percentile. However, this would depend on your performance in subsequent rounds (GD-PI-WAT).
  • GD-PI-WAT Importance: A score of 30 could be offset if you perform exceptionally well in the GD-PI-WAT rounds. Many candidates with lower exam scores but excellent personal interview skills have secured admission to Symbiosis institutes.

Can You Still Get Admission with a Score of 30?

It is unlikely that a score of 30 will qualify you for the first round of SNAP 2024 Selections in top institutes. However, in certain cases where you have an outstanding performance in GD-PI-WAT, you could be considered by lower-tier institutes, especially if you have strong academic and extracurricular credentials.

Is 45 a good score in SNAP?

Yes, a score of 45 marks in SNAP is generally considered a good score. Given that the SNAP exam is out of 60 marks, a score of 45 indicates strong performance and likely places you in a high percentile.

Top Symbiosis institutes, such as SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune, usually have cutoffs around the 98-99+ percentile range, which typically translates to scores above 40 marks. Therefore, with 45 marks, you stand a good chance of meeting the cutoffs for these prestigious institutes.

You can improve your chances of getting into a top Symbiosis institute by performing well in the SNAP 2024 exam, and in the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI) round. The cutoff for SNAP 2024 is not yet released.  I have listed below the expected cutoff percentile of SNAP 2024 for the top 5 Symbiosis Institutes: Name of institute Expected SNAP Cut Off 2024 (Percentile) SCMHRD, Pune 97 SIBM, Pune 98 SIBM, Bangalore 90 SIIB, Pune 93 SICSR, Pune 82 Here are some tips to study for SNAP 2024, in order to score a high percentile: Understand the Exam Pattern: SNAP has three sections, namely, Verbal Aptitude & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. Make yourself familiar with the questions asked and the marking scheme. For this, use previous years’ papers. Strategize a good Study Plan: Give more time to the sections which you find yourself weak in. Study for short spans, but be very consistent in your study time. Don’t spend all your day in just one section, allocate time to every part so that you do not become overwhelmed by studying the same things.  Take Mock Tests Regularly: By practising mock tests you’ll become habitual to the exam pattern, and your time-management skills will also improve. Regular Revisions: Revisions are a great way to brush up on your learnings and to avoid stress once the exam date is near. Stay up-to-date on Current Affairs: Current Affairs aren’t an important part of SNAP, but staying up-to-date on recent developments may help you answer comprehension passages in the Verbal Aptitude section.  Practice Time Management: Try to solve practice papers within the stipulated exam time for SNAP. When you sit for the SNAP exam, do not waste a lot of time on a question you don’t know the answer to, instead, come back to such questions once you finish the rest of your exam.  With hardwork and consistency, you’ll surely score a high percentile in SNAP and get admission into a top Symbiosis Institute for your MBA degree. ...Read More
