NMAT Selection Process 2024 will start soon after the release of NMAT 2024 Cut off by NMIMS and other MBA colleges. There is no common selection process followed by participating B-schools and each school will release its own NMAT Cut off. Check NMAT Cutoff

NMAT Selection Process 2024 Important Dates
The schedule for NMAT selection process will be released soon on the official website of NMIMS. Till then, candidates can check the tentative schedule provided below:

NMAT Selection Process 2024
NMAT 2024 selection process will begin with candidates registering and appearing for the entrance exam.
- Appear for NMAT 2024: Only candidates who appeared for NMAT 2024 are eligible for admission.
- NMAT Result 2024: All B-schools will release their respective NMAT 2021 cut-offs. Candidates will have to clear the exam cut-off in order to proceed with the selection process.
- Appearing for screening process: In the third step, the candidate will have to appear for further screening rounds organized by B-schools which includes GD (Group Discussion) or WAT followed by PI (Personal Interview) rounds.
- Final Selection: The final selection of the candidate depends upon the score achieved in the screening rounds. The weightage of each round in NMAT score will be decided by respective MBA college.
NMAT Written Ability Test 2024
Last year due to the pandemic situation the WAT round was conducted online. Candidates had provided their WAT test articles on Google Docs.
- Written Ability Test (WAT) is introduced by a few B-schools only. During this round candidates will be judged for the knowledge on the provided topic.
- Candidates will also be judged for Grammar, Language, Vocabulary, Clarity Of Thought etc.
NMAT Group Discussion 2024
Case Discussion is a round common to many of the B-schools accepting NMAT score admission process. Candidates’ knowledge is tested around varied topics of political, social, economical, sports, arts, educational nature. For group discussion, candidates will be divided into groups of 5- 10. Each group of student will get about 15 – 20 minutes to discuss the assigned topic and will be judged on the following factors:

- Communication Skills
- Managerial Skills
- Negotiation Skills
- Personality
- Listening Skills
- Confidence of Speaking
NMAT Group Discussion Topics
Group discussion round is a rather difficult part of NMAT Selection Process. Group Discussion topics often come as a surprise to students as they are mostly unpredictable. However some common topics which can be expected include:

- Science and Technology
- Finance and Economics
- Latest global happening such as COVID 19
NMAT Personal Interview 2024
PI round is the second most common round of the admission process of colleges accepting NMAT score. This round is usually conducted as a panel discussion with 3-4 panelists. The panelists include senior interviewers from B-schools and experts of various fields. During this session, the panelists try to assess the candidate on the basis of his/her interests, attitude, personality, and future aspirations. Academic and work profile of the applicant is also considered.
Last year the PI round was conducted over Zoom Call. Following points must be kept in mind of the candidate on which s/he will be tested:

Here are some of the tips to help candidates clear the GD, WAT, and PI rounds.
- Group Discussion: A topic will be provided by the B-school on the spot for candidates to indulge in group discussion. The topic may be related to any field. So, applicants are advised to be familiar with current affairs related to social, political, and economic walks of life along with knowledge of their respective fields.
- Written Ability Test: The WAT round is conducted to test candidates’ writing skills. Candidates are made to write an essay on a given topic. It is necessary to first understand the topic well, jot down the necessary points and plan out a structure before beginning with the essay.
- Personal Interview: This round involves candidates appearing for a face-to-face interview session with panelists. The panel may include members from the B-school selection committee as well as independent experts. It is essential for candidates to be presentable and alert while making conscious answers.
