The KEAM Rank List 2026 has been released on June 26, 2026, by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, at cee.kerala.gov.in. The rank list, initially expected on June 20, was postponed to June 26 to accommodate CBSE revaluation results announced on June 21.
The KEAM engineering rank list is prepared using 50% weightage to the KEAM score and 50% weightage to Class 12 marks, with a total score calculated out of 600.
- Students who submitted their Class 12 marks on time and scored at least 10 normalised marks in KEAM are included in the rank list.
- The KEAM rank list is used for the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP), which allocates seats in engineering, pharmacy, architecture, medical, and allied courses.
- Separate rank lists are published for Engineering, BPharm, Architecture, Medical (NEET-based), and Agriculture/Allied courses.
- In 2025, around 1,48,146 students registered for KEAM 2026, making this the most competitive year yet.
- The rank list also includes category-wise ranks for SC, ST, SEBC, OBC, EWS, and PwD students alongside the general merit rank.

How is the KEAM 2026 Rank Calculated?
The KEAM 2026 engineering rank is based on a final index score out of 600. This score combines the normalised entrance exam performance and standardised Class 12 board marks. Here is how the calculation works:
KEAM Index Score (out of 600) = Normalised KEAM Score (out of 300) + Standardised Class 12 Score (out of 300)
- The Class 12 component uses marks from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- If Chemistry weren't studied, it would be replaced by Computer Science, Biotechnology, or Biology (in that order).
- Class 12 marks are standardized using the Global Mean and Global Standard Deviation to ensure fairness across different school boards.
- KEAM entrance scores are normalized across multiple sessions using the Percentile Interpolated Average Method to eliminate variations in exam difficulty.
- For BPharm, the rank is based solely on your KEAM entrance score.
- This score is calculated out of 300 using a specific formula for Physics and Chemistry marks.
| Course | Rank Calculation Formula | Maximum Score |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech (Engineering) | 50% KEAM normalised score + 50% standardised Class 12 (PCM) | 600 |
| B.Pharm | Based on KEAM entrance exam score (Physics + Chemistry) | 300 |
| MBBS/BDS/BAMS and Medical Allied | Based on NEET UG score (minimum 50th percentile required) | NEET score |
| B.Arch | Based on NATA score + qualifying exam marks | As per NATA norms |
| Agriculture / Veterinary / Fisheries | Based on NEET score + qualifying exam marks | As per the course norm |

KEAM Tie-Breaking Rules for Rank List 2026
When two or more students obtain identical total index scores, CEE applies a defined tie-breaking sequence to determine who gets the better rank.
The tie-breaking process is applied in strict order - the next criterion is used only if the previous one does not resolve the tie.
- Higher pre-normalised score in Mathematics in the KEAM entrance exam - the student with more marks in Mathematics gets a better rank.
- Higher pre-normalised score in Physics in the KEAM entrance exam.
- Higher pre-normalised score in Chemistry in the KEAM entrance exam.
- Higher standardised Class 12 marks in Mathematics - the student with better board performance in Mathematics is ranked higher.
- Higher standardised Class 12 marks in Physics.
- Older in age - the student who is older (earlier date of birth) is ranked higher.
- If the tie still remains, the decision of CEE will be final.
This sequence ensures that students who are stronger in the core subjects most relevant to engineering - Mathematics first, then Physics, then Chemistry - are rewarded in the event of a tie.

FAQs
Ques. Is the KEAM rank list the same as the KEAM result?
Ans. No, the KEAM result (released on May 12, 2026) shows only the normalised entrance exam score. The rank list, released later, combines that score with Class 12 marks using a 50:50 formula and assigns the final merit rank used for counselling.
Ques. I did not submit my Class 12 marks. Will I get a rank?
Ans. No, the students who did not submit their Class 12 marks before the deadline are not included in the KEAM rank list and are therefore not eligible to participate in the CAP counselling process.
Ques. What is the minimum score needed to appear in the KEAM rank list?
Ans. Students must have scored at least 10 normalised marks in the KEAM entrance exam to be included in the engineering rank list. There is no minimum qualifying score for the entrance exam beyond this threshold for engineering; however, medical courses require a minimum NEET percentile.
Ques. How many rank lists does CEE release for KEAM 2026?
Ans. CEE releases separate rank lists for Engineering, BPharm, Architecture (NATA-based), Medical and Allied courses (NEET-based), Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, B.Tech Biotechnology (KAU), and Co-operation and Banking.
Ques. Is 40,000 a good rank in KEAM?
Ans. No, 40,000 rank in KEAM is not considered a good rank. It is an average-to-low rank that usually gets seats only in lower-tier self-financing/private colleges (some branches), with very low chances in government or top-aided institutions.
Ques. How is the KEAM 2026 engineering rank calculated?
Ans. The engineering rank is based on a total index score out of 600. It is the sum of the normalised KEAM entrance score (out of 300) and the standardised Class 12 marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (out of 300), with equal 50:50 weightage.
Ques. A candidate asked on Quora, “My KEAM rank is 1127. Which engineering course in which college will be better?”
Ans. With a KEAM Rank of 1127, you can easily get CSE or ECE in top colleges. Best choices: CSE at GEC Thrissur / TKM Kollam or ECE at CET Trivandrum / GEC Barton Hill.
Ques. Another candidate asked on Quora, “Approximately, I got 230 marks in KEAM and 325 marks in the state board. What will be my KEAM rank?”
Ans. Based on past trends, an aggregate normalized score from 230 KEAM marks and 325 board marks typically places your rank in the 15,000 to 25,000 range.
Ques. Can I check the KEAM rank list without logging in?
Ans. No, the KEAM 2026 rank is available only through the individual candidate login portal at cee.kerala.gov.in using your application number and password.
Ques. Is 470 a good score in KEAM?
Ans. Yes, 470 out of 600 in KEAM is a good score. It typically fetches a rank around 8,000–18,000 (depending on +2 marks), securing seats in reputed government/aided colleges and top private institutions in Kerala.
