KEAM 2026 seat allotment is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, through the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). CEE allots seats to eligible students across government, government-aided, and self-financing engineering colleges in Kerala based on rank, registered options, and seat availability. The Round 1 (Phase 1) allotment result is expected on July 8, 2026; option registration for Phase 1 CAP closed on July 4, 2026. Students who have registered their options must monitor the official portal for the allotment result and act within the acceptance window to secure their seat.

Allotment Dates

KEAM Seat Allotment 2026 Dates

CEE Kerala conducts KEAM 2026 CAP in multiple phases. All allotment rounds are awaited as of July 4, 2026; the Round 1 result is expected on July 8, 2026. Before the actual Round 1 result, CEE releases a trail allotment — a non-binding preview that shows students a simulated allotment based on current registered options. No fee payment or response is required for the trail allotment; it is informational only. Acceptance windows and reporting dates will be published on the CEE portal after each round’s result is released.

Round Allotment Result Date Acceptance / Reporting Window Status
Trail Allotment (Phase 1) July 5, 2026 (expected) Not applicable — preview only Awaited
Round 1 (Phase 1) July 8, 2026 (expected) To be announced Awaited
Round 2 (Phase 2) August 2026 (expected) To be announced Awaited
Round 3 (Phase 3) September 2026 (expected) To be announced Awaited
Mop-up / Spot Round September–October 2026 (expected) To be announced Awaited

CEE publishes all allotment results exclusively on the official portal at cee.kerala.gov.in. Results are not communicated by email or SMS. Students who registered options before the July 4, 2026 deadline are automatically eligible for all subsequent rounds, including the mop-up round, without any additional registration.

How to Check

How to Check KEAM Seat Allotment Result 2026

Once CEE releases a round’s allotment result, you can view your allotted college and course by logging in to the official portal. Keep your application number and password ready before you begin. The portal may experience high traffic immediately after a result is published; if it is slow, wait a few minutes and try again.

  1. Open the official CEE Kerala website: cee.kerala.gov.in
  2. Click on the KEAM 2026 tab or the CAP allotment link displayed on the homepage.
  3. Select the KEAM Counselling Login option.
  4. Enter your Application Number and Password, then complete the CAPTCHA verification.
  5. Click Submit to access your account dashboard.
  6. Navigate to the Seat Allotment or Allotment Result tab.
  7. Your allotted college, course, and category will be displayed on screen.
  8. Download and save your allotment memo and fee receipt immediately — you will need both documents when reporting to the allotted college.

The trail allotment (expected July 5) is visible through the same login steps, but the page will show a "Trail" label and will not display a fee payment option. The binding Round 1 result, expected July 8, will activate the acceptance and fee payment workflow in the dashboard.

Accept / Freeze / Float

Accept, Freeze or Float — What to Do After Allotment

After viewing your allotment result, you must select one of three response options within the acceptance window and pay the token fee to confirm your seat. If you do not respond within the acceptance window, your allotted seat is cancelled and you are excluded from all further rounds.

Option What It Means When to Choose
Freeze You accept the allotted seat and withdraw from all future allotment rounds. No upgrade is possible even if a higher-preference option becomes vacant in a later round. You are fully satisfied with the current allotment and want to stop participating in subsequent rounds.
Float You accept the allotted seat as a confirmed safety net and remain eligible for automatic upgrades to any higher-preference college or course in subsequent rounds. You want to retain the current seat but are hoping for a better college or branch in a later round.
Slide You accept the allotted seat and remain eligible for upgrades only to a higher-preference course within the same institution — not to a different college. You are satisfied with the college but prefer a different branch within the same institute.

Students who choose Float or Slide are considered automatically for upgrades in the next round; they do not need to re-register or re-enter options. If you receive an upgrade in Round 2 or Round 3, your token fee paid in the earlier round is adjusted accordingly. Choosing Freeze locks your seat permanently; no further upgrade or change is possible through CEE after this selection.

Seat Acceptance Fee

KEAM Seat Acceptance Fee 2026

A token fee must be paid online within the acceptance window to confirm your seat allotment. The fee amount depends on the type of college allotted to you. This is a token fee, not the full tuition fee; it is refundable at the end of the KEAM 2026 admission process after deducting any applicable charges.

College Type Seat Acceptance Token Fee Refundable
Government Colleges (General Category) Rs. 1,000 Yes, after admission process concludes
Government-Aided / Self-Financing Colleges Rs. 10,000 Yes, after admission process concludes

Payment is accepted online via credit card, debit card, or net banking through the CEE Kerala portal. You may also pay at a designated Head Post Office if online payment is not possible. Save the payment confirmation and fee receipt — this document is mandatory when reporting to the allotted college and at the time of refund processing. Students who do not pay within the acceptance window forfeit the seat and lose eligibility for all subsequent rounds, including the mop-up round.

Reporting Documents

Documents Required for Reporting

After accepting your seat and paying the token fee, you must report to the allotted college within the window specified in your allotment memo. Carry all original documents along with self-attested photocopies; missing originals may delay or void your admission. CEE Kerala may update this list before reporting begins, so always verify the final checklist on the official portal.

  • Proof of date of birth (Class 10 mark sheet or birth certificate)
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) and Conduct Certificate from the last institution attended
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark lists and pass certificates
  • Class 12 school certificate issued by the respective board
  • KEAM 2026 scorecard and a valid government-issued photo ID
  • Category, caste, or reservation certificate (if applicable — OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.)
  • Migration Certificate (required if the qualifying exam was from a board other than the Kerala board)
  • KEAM 2026 allotment memo (downloaded from the CEE portal after accepting the seat)
  • Seat acceptance token fee payment receipt

Students allotted under special reservation categories (differently abled, sports quota, etc.) must also carry the relevant authority’s certificate as specified in the KEAM 2026 prospectus. Verify the complete, category-specific list on cee.kerala.gov.in before your reporting date.

If No Seat Allotted

What If No Seat Is Allotted

Not receiving a seat in one round does not end your KEAM 2026 admission journey. Students who completed option registration before the July 4, 2026 deadline are automatically carried forward to all subsequent rounds — Rounds 2, 3, and the mop-up round — without submitting any fresh application.

In each subsequent round, CEE re-evaluates all registered options against the pool of newly vacated seats — those freed up by students who declined, forfeited, or chose Freeze in the previous round. This means a seat that was unavailable in Round 1 may open up in Round 2 if a higher-ranked student exits the process. The mop-up or spot round, expected in September–October 2026, fills any remaining vacancies after the three regular rounds close; it is the last opportunity within the CAP framework.

Two important restrictions apply. First, students who missed the option registration deadline of July 4, 2026 are not eligible for any allotment round, including the mop-up round — registration is a one-time gate. Second, students who already hold a confirmed seat in a government college on merit basis cannot participate in spot allotment for that same course. If all CAP rounds conclude without a seat allotment, students may approach self-financing colleges directly for management quota seats, subject to institutional availability and the fee structures set by the Fee Regulatory Committee, Kerala.

KEAM Seat Allotment 2026 FAQs

Ques. When will the KEAM 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result be released?

Ans. The KEAM 2026 Round 1 (Phase 1) seat allotment result is expected on July 8, 2026. As of July 4, 2026, it has not been released yet. Check the official CEE Kerala portal at cee.kerala.gov.in for the result link as soon as it goes live.

Ques. What is the trail allotment in KEAM CAP and do I need to respond to it?

Ans. The trail allotment is a simulated, non-binding preview released by CEE before the official Round 1 result. It shows you a likely allotment based on your current options and seat availability. No fee payment or formal response is required for the trail allotment — it is purely informational and does not confirm a seat.

Ques. How do I check my KEAM 2026 seat allotment result?

Ans. Visit cee.kerala.gov.in, click on the KEAM 2026 CAP counselling login link, enter your application number and password, complete the CAPTCHA, and click Submit. Your allotted college, course, and category appear in the Seat Allotment tab of your dashboard. Download your allotment memo immediately after viewing.

Ques. What is the difference between Freeze, Float, and Slide in KEAM CAP?

Ans. Freeze means you accept the seat and exit all future rounds — no upgrade is possible. Float means you accept the seat but remain eligible for automatic upgrades to any higher-preference college or course in later rounds. Slide means you accept the seat and are considered only for a better branch within the same college, not a different institution.

Ques. What is the seat acceptance token fee for KEAM 2026?

Ans. The token fee is Rs. 1,000 for a government college seat (general category) and Rs. 10,000 for a government-aided or self-financing college seat. Both amounts are refundable at the end of the admission process. Pay online through the CEE portal using a card or net banking, or at a designated Head Post Office.

Ques. What happens if I miss the acceptance window after getting a seat?

Ans. If you do not respond and pay the token fee within the acceptance window, your allotted seat is cancelled and you lose eligibility for all remaining allotment rounds, including the mop-up round. This is a stricter outcome than simply not getting a seat — missing the window is treated as a voluntary withdrawal from the entire CAP process. CEE does not offer extensions to the acceptance deadline.

Ques. Can I get an upgrade in Round 2 if I accepted a seat in Round 1?

Ans. Yes, if you chose Float or Slide during Round 1 acceptance, CEE automatically considers you for a better option in Round 2. You do not need to re-register. Students who chose Freeze in Round 1 are permanently locked to that seat and are not processed in Round 2 or later.

Ques. What documents do I need to carry when reporting to the allotted college?

Ans. Carry originals and self-attested photocopies of your Class 10 and Class 12 mark lists and pass certificates, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, KEAM 2026 scorecard, a valid photo ID, your allotment memo, the token fee receipt, and any category certificate if applicable. Students from boards other than the Kerala board also need a Migration Certificate. Verify the final list on cee.kerala.gov.in before your reporting date.
