ICSE Class X Result 2026: Out on 30 April at cisce.org, Revaluation, Pass Percentage and Toppers List

The ICSE Class X Result 2026 was released by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on 30 April 2026 on the official portal cisce.org. Around 2.4 lakh students who took the ICSE Class 10 board exam between February and March 2026 can now download their marksheets using their Unique ID and Index Number. The board is now expected to release the recheck/re-evaluation results in June 2026, after which revised scores will be reflected on the same portal.

Your ICSE marksheet shows subject-wise external (80) and internal (20) marks, the overall grade in each subject, the total of best five subjects, and your pass/fail status. To pass the ICSE Class X exam, you need at least 35% aggregate in best five subjects including English.

How to Check ICSE Class X Result 2026

CISCE gives you four different ways to view your ICSE Class X 2026 result. Pick whichever loads for you first — the data on each one is identical.

Method 1: Via the CISCE Results Portal

This is the main method most students use.

1. Go to results.cisce.org.
2. Choose ICSE (Class 10) from the course dropdown.
3. Enter your Unique ID and Index Number (both printed on your admit card).
4. Type the CAPTCHA shown on screen.
5. Click Show Result — your subject-wise marksheet opens.
6. Download the PDF and take a printout for your records.

Method 2: Via the DigiLocker App

1. Open the DigiLocker app or visit digilocker.gov.in.
2. Log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
3. Search for Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.
4. Select ICSE Marksheet 2026 and enter your Unique ID and Index Number.
5. The digital marksheet downloads to your DigiLocker wallet — use it directly for school admissions.

Method 3: Via SMS

If both portals are slow on result day, try the SMS service:

• Open the SMS app on your phone.
• Type: ICSE <space> Unique ID
• Send it to 09248082883.
• You receive your subject-wise marks as a reply SMS.

Method 4: Via the CAREERS Portal (School Login)

Your school principal can pull all student results from the CAREERS Portal (cisce.org) using the school login. The school then shares your tabulation register and individual marksheet.

ICSE Class X 2026 Marksheet: Details Mentioned

Once you download the marksheet, check that every detail is correct. Even a small typo in your name or date of birth becomes a hassle later. Your ICSE Class X 2026 marksheet shows:

• Student’s full name
• Father’s and mother’s names
• Date of birth
• Unique ID and Index Number
• School name and code
• Subject codes and subject names
• External (theory paper) marks out of 80
• Internal assessment / project marks out of 20
• Total marks out of 100 per subject
• Grade per subject (1 to 9 scale)
• Aggregate of the best five subjects
• Overall pass / compartment / fail status

If any printed detail does not match your admit card, write to your school principal within 7 days of the result. The school then raises a correction request to CISCE on your behalf through the CAREERS Portal. Do not wait for the physical marksheet to arrive — corrections are slower once the printed copies are dispatched.

ICSE Class X Grading System 2026

CISCE does not use the A1–E2 grade system that CBSE follows. Instead, ICSE awards a 1 to 9 grade per subject, where 1 is the highest grade and 9 is the lowest. The grade is not added in your subject mark — it is just a band that helps schools and colleges read your performance quickly.

Grades 1 to 7 are pass grades; Grades 8 and 9 indicate failure in that subject. CISCE works out the grade from your combined marks (external 80 + internal 20 = 100), not from your theory paper alone. So a strong internal score helps lift your final grade.

ICSE Class X Passing Marks & Qualifying Criteria

To pass the ICSE Class 10 board exam, you need to clear a few rules together — not just an overall percentage.

• You must score at least 35% (35 out of 100) in each subject you appear for, combining both external and internal marks.
• The aggregate is taken from your best five subjects, with English compulsorily included.
• You have to clear English (the language paper) — failing English fails you overall.
• You also have to clear the four other subjects you wish to count in your aggregate.

In this case, the system drops Hindi (68) and picks Computer Applications (91) in the aggregate. Your final percentage uses the top five marks alongside English.

CISCE does not publish a grace marks scheme for ICSE Class X. However, the board may moderate scores subject-wise based on the difficulty of the paper. This moderation, if any, is applied uniformly across all students before the result is uploaded.

ICSE Class X 2026 Recheck & Re-evaluation

If your mark in any subject looks lower than your school exam pattern would suggest, CISCE allows a paper recheck. The recheck is not a full re-evaluation in the CBSE sense — the examiner does not re-mark your paper from scratch. Instead, the board checks:

• Whether every answer you wrote was actually marked.
• Whether the totalling on each page and the grand total are correct.
• Whether the marks were transferred correctly to the final marksheet.

The application window for recheck opened on 1 May 2026 and closed on 7 May 2026 — seven days after the result. Students who applied within the window can expect the revised result in mid-June 2026.

You apply for recheck through your school — individual students cannot apply directly. The school principal logs in to the CAREERS Portal, raises the request and pays the fee. Once the recheck is processed, the revised score is updated automatically on results.cisce.org. There is no separate marksheet sent for the recheck; the same marksheet is updated on the portal.

A few quick rules to remember:

• If the recheck reveals you have lost marks, those revised lower marks are valid. The original score is not protected.
• You can recheck any number of subjects, but each costs a separate fee.
• The recheck outcome is final — you cannot apply for a second review on the same paper.

ICSE Class X 2026 Improvement & Compartment Exam

Students who failed in one or two subjects or who want to improve their score in a subject can register for the ICSE Improvement / Compartment Examination 2026. The board treats both cases through the same exam window — only the application category and fee structure differ.

• Failed in one or two subjects → apply under Compartment.
• Passed but want a better score in any subject → apply under Improvement.

Based on CISCE’s pattern over the last few years, here is what the 2026 improvement window is expected to look like:

The application has to be raised by your school. Once you clear the improvement paper:

• The higher of your two scores (original and improvement) is recorded on the final ICSE Class 10 certificate.
• You receive a fresh marksheet with the improved score and the same year of passing.
• If you fail again, you will have to repeat the next academic cycle as a private candidate.

The Improvement / Compartment route lets you keep the same academic year on your record. Most CBSE and ICSE schools accept the improvement result for Class XI admissions, provided it is declared before their admission cutoff date.

What After ICSE Class X Result 2026?

The ICSE Class X result is mostly a gateway to your higher secondary stream. Here is what you should do based on your outcome:

If You Passed

• Pick a stream for Class XI — Science (PCM / PCB / PCMB), Commerce, Humanities or Vocational.
• Apply to your preferred ISC / CBSE / state board higher secondary school. Admissions usually open within 7 to 10 days of the result.
• Download a copy of your provisional marksheet and the DigiLocker certificate. Most schools accept these till the original marksheet reaches you.
• If you have an entrance test for Class XI (NTSE, Olympiads, JEE Foundation programs), keep your ICSE Class X marksheet ready as proof of eligibility.

If You Are in the Compartment / Improvement Bracket

• Talk to your school principal within 3 days of the result. The school has to raise the compartment application on your behalf.
• Pay the per-subject fee and download the admit card in mid-July 2026.
• Keep your Class XI school admission on hold but informed — most schools allow provisional admission pending the compartment result.

If You Want to Switch Boards in Class XI

The ICSE Class X marksheet is accepted by CBSE, state boards, IB, NIOS and other major boards. The marksheet shows your subjects, your grade per subject, and your aggregate of the best five. That is enough to seek a board transfer; just confirm the new school’s cutoff and subject mapping rules.

If You Wish to Apply to International Programs

ICSE is widely recognised by foreign higher secondary programs (Cambridge IGCSE, IB Diploma). For international counsellors, the ICSE Class X marksheet is treated as the equivalent of an O-Level result. You can use it for early IGCSE/IB programs, foundation diplomas, and international scholarships.
