HPCET 2024 exam pattern will be separate as per the course you opt for, BTech, BPharm, MCA, or MBA. HPCET 2024 exam will be set in offline pen and paper mode. The only language in which HPCET question paper is set is English. For BTech and BPharm, the questions are set from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology topics.
If you opt for BTech or BPharm, there will be two sections for each three sections. A total of 150 questions are asked here with a +4 mark weightage for each question. However, there is a negative marking of -1 for every incorrect answer you mark on the OMR sheet. The total paper of BTech and BPharm must be completed within 3 hours and 15 minutes.
If you are appearing for admission into MCA, MBA, and MBA (T&HM) courses, the question paper must be completed within 2 hours of duration. A total of 100 questions are allocated for MCA and 75 questions for MBA course with the same HPCET 2024 marking scheme of +4 marks for every correct answer you make. There will be no sectional time limit set for completing the paper.

HPCET 2024 Question Paper Pattern
The exam will be conducted in offline mode where candidates will be provided with OMR sheets. There will be multiple answer questions in the exam. There will be three sections in the paper that will be based upon the stream and level you have applied for. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The exam pattern is different for each stream. The candidate will be awarded 2 marks for each correct answer and ½ marks will be deducted for each wrong response selected by the candidate.
HPCET 2024 Question Paper Pattern of B.Tech/ B.Pharmacy
The test for the bachelor contains 150 objective questions that are to be solved in three hours. The questions are MCQ with four options for each question.

HPCET 2024 Marking Scheme
In the marking scheme for HPCET 2024, there is negative marking for each wrong answer selected by the candidate. Multiple responses selected by the candidate will be counted as an incorrect response and the marks will be deducted accordingly. Though the unattended questions will not be marked negatively or marked at all.
Each right answer will fetch two marks for the candidate. Whereas, with each wrong response ½ marks out of the total marks scored by candidate will be deducted.
- Marking scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer
- Negative marking: -1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer

HPCET 2024 Important Instructions
Few guidelines must be followed by the candidate to avoid exemption/delay/debarring from the exam:
- HPCET 2024 will be conducted in the offline mode only. An OMR sheet will be given to candidates to mark the answers.
- The total time duration of the exam will be three hours and two hours for the MBA/MCA exams. Candidates must try to reach the examination hall at least 1 houre before the test.
- Candidates must remember to carry the original as well as the photocopy of their admit card and ID proof to enter the exam hall.
- For marking the responses, only blue or black ballpoint pen must be used. The circles must be filled as per the instructions provided in the OMR sheet.
- The questions will be given in English language only. Any alternate language mode or question paper will not be provided for the exam.
- Un-attempted questions will be marked as 0
- Multiple responses to the same question will be regarded as incorrect and hence, will be subject to half a mark deduction.
