The Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2026 will now be conducted for additional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the academic session 2026-27.

As per the notification issued on February 26, 2026, the entrance exam will include BSc HMCT/BHMCT, MSc Environmental Sciences, and MSc Physics. The detailed schedule for these newly added courses has also been officially released, and candidates must appear for HPCET to secure admission.

Students should avoid clashes with other entrance examinations scheduled around these dates.

HPCET 2026 will now cover BSc HMCT/BHMCT (Hotel Management & Catering Technology) at the undergraduate level and MSc Environmental Sciences and MSc Physics at the postgraduate level.

This change will be effective from the academic session 2026-27, and candidates seeking admission to these programmes must qualify in HPCET 2026.

With the addition of hotel management and science PG courses, the scope of the entrance exam has expanded. Students planning careers in hospitality, environmental research, or physics should now prepare specifically for this test, as admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of entrance performance and merit rank.

After the result declaration, qualified candidates will participate in the counselling process, which includes online registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment based on merit, document verification, and final admission confirmation.
