Campus Life:

Talent shows and Youth festivals are conducted on campus to see the hidden talent of students. There are about 2000 and more books available in the library for academics as well as for competition. Also, International journal of information management and technology is also available here. NCC and NSS are there with an annual sports day conducted on campus. A blood donation camp is also conducted here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I have a great interest in food safety and dietetics. All faculty are good with every five students having at least one teacher to help them. All faculty are highly qualified and skilful. Exams happen every six months and monthly exams are taken for revision and practice.

Campus Life:

Both Amity and Chandigarh University are esteemed institutions of the country. However, in terms of comparison Chandigarh University is more accomplished one. First of all, let’s compare the NAAC Accreditation of both the universities. Chandigarh University is NAAC A+ grade while Amity is NAAC A grade accredited. Further, Chandigarh University has a very advanced curriculum and is at par with international demands. It offers numerous programmes with many specializationsin a single trade as well. Apart from the Sciences, CU offers over 120 programmes with chance to earn scholarships as well. While the scholarships can be availed up to 100%, depending upon your performance, the University’s placement drive and internships are amazing too. Chandigarh University has its name registered in Limca Book of World record for bringing highest number of Companies during their placement drive at the campus. You can check the number of Fortune 500 Global & India companies recruiting CU students at

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

There is an entrance exam or interview(dependong the upon the course which you opt for) for the university in which 95% of the students pass, as it is not that tough. If someone has required money he or she can get Admission through Sponsored candidate, who pay some 70–80% more fee than non- sponsored category candidate. Since purging is not done in a stringent manner. This makes college crowd vulnerable to non deserving candidates. As its a private university the fee for certain courses might burn a hole in many people's pocket. Many students come from affluent or opluent family they smoke, take drugs, disrespect teacher and all. To be candid these things are present in every college, but dont know why Amity name is tarnished always. The complusory Foreign Business Language( FBL) sometimes put unwanted onus on the students. Hope my answer will help you extrapolate whether “Amity” is a good college or not. Feel free to ask if you have any further doubt.

Campus Life:

Amity youth fest was the biggest fest had almost every year in January or February. It was a blast every time as different activities and stars use to come. Books availability of subject biochemistry and diet therapy were very less in the library after too many complaints to they got Only 4-5 which was impossible to get to every student. But yes the library was huge and almost everything also digital excess was included where we can sit in library use a computer and work on our assignment there only. All facilities were available in the classroom from digital board to ac rooms, desk and chairs everything was great. There were many extracurricular activities and sports fest used to happen too. But as attendance was an issue to it was difficult to cope up with extracurricular activities. Different student clubs were there of every department and use to interact with different clubs of each block.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

M.Sc. Food and Nutrition fees were 67000 per semester it was less if compared with different M.Sc. courses at Amity University. But yes it was high but it included many facilities such as Ac classrooms, Digital board, Full access of digital as well offline library for free, computer room, labs with all the machines and chemicals required. Beyond fees, we weren't asked to pay anything more. Amity Scholarship Scheme was mainly for toppers. They have to maintain the highest 5% range in the merit list to maintain the scholarship or avail themselves of it. But scholarships were given to very few people and it was only for bachelor and master students. There was no financial assistance given to any student and there was nobody I know who got a job on campus with a stipend.

Remarks:

Being an open university, its office is in Delhi and has subsidiaries or study centres at very good and prestigious institutes like R.C.IGNOU,JAMMU. The students have to attend their classes in their respective study centres. The labs are also there in the schedule of the technical students, and the students can take online classes also on its website taken by distinguished faculty members.

Placement Experience:

My batch is going to be completed next year. So I am providing the details of my senior batch. They said the placements are around 70%. Most of the students got into the companies. The average salary offered for most of them are around 25000 per month. The least stipend offered is around 8000 per month.

Remarks:

The Infrastructure of IGNOU college is good. But IGNOU provides classes in study centres. JMI is my study centre which is very large & clean premises. There are 2 cafeteria & water facility is good. The classroom is well structured but the campus is not Wi-Fi enabled. There are no facilities for sports & other extracurricular activities because it is an open University and there are no medical facilities. Classes are held only on Sunday and there is no hostel facility in it.

College Events:

Teachers in our college were knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. They guided us with problems which we were facing with subjects. They gave us good study materials and notes through modules. They made us practice with assignment and test papers with which we can score well. They had a good experience, and they always motivated students.

Campus Life:

The campus was completely newly constructed buildings that were really spacious and well built to suit the student life. the college conducted a yearly fest as well as inter-college competitions in the cultural department. The library contained adequate and updated content for research. The departments were equipped with projectors for presentations. The college conducted various extra activities very often. the college had a very strong sports department with all equipment.

Internships Opportunities:

The college encouraged the students to do internships for a short period of time. It is part of the curriculum for Masters students and it is to be done during their semester holidays. For my major, as it focused on two fields, we did two internships. one was in the hospital as a Dietician and next was in the food industry. We were asked to do the internships as a small project that would lead to the major project we chose in the final semester.

Admission:

I got admission in the college based upon my graduation marks. The qualifying criteria was a graduation degree in B.Sc(Food and Nutrition/Home science) B. A(Home science) or B. R. S(Home science). I had my B. Sc in food and nutrition. My M. Sc was also in Food and nutrition.

Placement Experience:

There were no such placement drives on our campus as is the case with these kind of colleges. However, the college prepared us for job opportunities. The faculty also helped students get placed. Skill development sessions for employability were also held at the University.

● Top Answer By Shreya Hazra on 27 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends graduated from Pondicherry University and having read a few online reviews regarding this topic, I would suggest some things.  To crack this entrance test you need to plan well to score good marks. Cover the basics from grade 11 and 12 NCERT Biology and Chemistry.  You can refer to the previous years’ question papers. Try to read all the theories behind those questions.  Revising thoroughly will help score good marks. Securing a seat in Central University requires preparation strategically. So if you want to clear the Pondicherry university entrance exam just prepare according to the syllabus. Thorough preparation for a month will make things easier.Read more
