Course Curriculum Overview

The course currilculum is a little outdated and is mostly theoretical. Some subjects like Statistics, Time series analysis have real world applications. There is also a compulsary research paper which every student should do in the second year.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course particulary because of low fees and most of my batchmates did because of that only. The curriculum still needs development from an MBA perspective mainly because the course is focused on economics rather than MBA as it should have been because of which there is lack of case studies in preparation but overall it tries to balance the whole economics and the specialization you take in 2nd year ( its a dual specialization where you have to choose two specializations out of three i.e analytics, marketing & finance ). The exams are held at end of semesters only which last about 4 months in average and the difficulty would be rated at 3/5 in my opinion. there are 30 exams of internals and if you have less than 65% attendance then you get zero, no matter what submissions you have done all semesters, so all in all you have to pass from 70 marks only.

Campus Life

There are around 4 committes i.e Placement, alumni relations, public relations and corporate communications cell, other than that around 8 clubs focused on different aspects like sports, consulting, finance, data, economist club etc. All clubs and committees are student run with oversight of faculties and south campus has a huge library which includes a whole lot of titles from all things like journals, novels etc to studies focused books like psycological, economics, finance etc. There is a official fresher and unofficial fresher done. Apart from this sports tournaments are also done not in our college but our teams visit different campus to take part in other college's sports tournaments. The classrooms are getting equipped with new technologies but still it lags behing.

Faculty

6 - permanent faculties, 1:10 faculties to student ratio. Faculty is good and approacable, they want professional stuff like it should be at a Post Graduate level. Each faculty has it's name in the department, some for their strictness, some for their humour way of teaching. All in all it's a wholesome class everyday. It's a dual semester course per year. Course is a little too rigor if you are not from economics background. Subjects are extensive. Anyways, you'll get through, it's MBA, it's about stress management only. Relevance is too high if you are highly interested in Analytics domain in corporate.

Course Curriculum Overview

This course allow you to sit in all the govt exams which require economics as your majors, so it's a MBA, it's Economics also, plus plus only. It's relevant the structure is relevant but the tools used in lab still dates back. Teaching methodology is mix of conventional classroom, labs, case study approach, digital board teaching or somedays virtual classrooms as well. frequency of exam is 2 times an academic year, frequency is decent, you might be caught up by internal assesments, PPTs, case studies, so manage your time well.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is theoretically intensive, and still coveres mlre of the primitive theories and very less emphasis on technology if any. The tech used itself is also a bit outdated as compared to other institutions. But the faculty nake the subjects interesting and fun to learn along with explaining the limited real world applications of the curriculum.

Placement Experience

For interships, the students are eligible in the 1st semester itself and for final placements, in the 3rd. The process conducted is not so transparent, quite a lot of loopholes. Around 60-70 percent of the batch gets placed depending on their capabilities and employability.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is quite different from general MBA colleges. It covers Economics, analytics, finance, marketing, OB and even corporate law and accounting is taught. It offers dual specialisation majorly in Analytics, Finance and Marketing which is selected by students in the 2nd year. For the first year it covers the basics of everything. The course lacks a little practical learning experience which can make it even better. The exams are moderate to tough because of the complex subjects

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees I paid was 48500 per annum inclusive of everything which is now 49850 p.a for general category. For PwD category fees is 13475 p.a. The application fees is 2000 for the MBA BE and MBA Finance programs combined for general category and 1000 for SC/ST/PC and 1200 for a single one for general and 700 for SC/ST/PC. There are scholarships and fees waivers for low income group people. The fees doesn't move much and would somewhat remain similar.

Campus Life

Annual Events 1. TEDxDFBEDU- 1 Day 2. Reminiscene-1 Day 3. Genesis- 1 day etc.. The library is the strongest acdemic resource in the campus, offering a wide range of books, research papers, and journal related to differnt fields, analytics and finance. Classrooms are functional but basic, equipped with projectors an WiFi. While sports facilities exist, they are not very well maintained or widely promoted. Basic sports like cricket, badminton, football are available. DBE has several student run clubs and committees.

Placement Experience

From 3rd semester students are eligible to sit in the placement process. Some of the companies include; Arcesium, American Express, EY, Moodys, ICIC Bnak, RBL Bank, Barclays etc. Highest package offered this year is 24.75 LPA and the average package is 14.45LPA . Almost 100% placement is there. This year around 70% of the batch is placed till now. My plan is very simple I want to get into analytics field and making a career in that field.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am from science background. After seeing difficulty in science I decided to choose this stream. I got early interest in commerce because I am good in maths. I thought of MBA as my goal so i choose this course. Having management, law, computer and EVS as the subjects it really enhances the personality in real life. I personally don't think anything is there to be improved. Even the teachers are well educated and smart to tackle students weakness and help them with everything they have. Questions are all related to the course we study, and the exams are fair enough to improvise a students knowledge. Sometimes it's difficult but it's on students about how well they prepare themselves for the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is genuine for all categories of students. Even the poorest people can afford the fees of their child per year. Students also gets different scholarships on a yearly basis which is even more than the fees deposited. Scholarships like NSP where students get around 20000 and the recent scholarship by nabin odisha where students got 10000 and many other schemes help students to get something as savings. No other charges are taken other then the back paper clear fees which is mandatory. All the staffs and workers other than teachers are well mannered and helpful.
