To be eligible for a MA in Yoga, students should have an undergraduate degree in Yoga or related field with a minimum 45% aggregate score. However, the eligibility for admission may differ from institute to institute. Some institutions also take on-spot physical tests to check your yoga skills.

Most of the colleges grant admission to this course on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the previous examination, followed by a personal interview. However, very few colleges also take entrance exams for this course.

MA Yoga Entrance Exams

For a Master of Arts degree in a subject like Yoga, there is not a large number of national-level entrance exams, however, most universities have their own written tests, and formal examinations, the list of which is given below.

Exam name Exam date
PUBDET Check PUBDET Exam Dates
APU UG NET

Check APU UG NET Exam Dates

TS EAMCET Check TS EAMCET Exam Dates

Other than these, universities and institutes conduct written aptitude and knowledge tests that can be considered as entrance exams, but they are course and university-specific.

How to Prepare for these exams?

The entrance exams are usually MCQ based. The syllabus for the exam usually comprises subjects and knowledge areas covered in the Graduate Level. The syllabus is according to the Regulations of the respective discipline issued by CCIM/CCHA (for the AIA PGET).

A list of points that can be helpful for students to prepare for the entrance exams conducted by the government, and the private body (university) are given below:

  • Students must be thorough with the examination syllabus as they can prepare for the exam easily if they are well-versed with the syllabus.
  • Students should also try to attempt as many past question papers as they can so that they can achieve a better understanding of the exam pattern and the type of questions that will be asked.
  • Learning how to manage time is one of the most important things that students should invest their time in because they will have to answer 100 questions in the span of ninety minutes.
  • Students should not refer to more than one book as a reference because if they take help from multiple books and need to find just one concept - it wastes time.
  • Students should stay fit and healthy while preparing for exams instead of stressing themselves out and wasting time by doing that.
  • Make a proper timetable so that time can be allocated easily, and almost equally for normal everyday life, and exam preparation.
  • It is extremely important for students to be familiar with the marking scheme as it will help them decide which questions to leave if in a rush, as well as the negative marking scheme.

Course Curriculum Overview

As I have an interest in yoga and want to learn more about it so I got an admission into MA yoga. There are 40 seats and good faculty available over there and they also have a lot of experience in yoga and Naturopathy. The teachers are mainly cleared net jrf and they are researchers also so they have great knowledge about everything regarding yoga. If we talk about the course it was an interesting one because it has a practical subject so a lot of time we learn everything from practical classes and on behalf of that we can write our exam also.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is normal because it's a professional course we have to pay for it at the last the total fees would be 60000rs As per this, we have 4 semesters and in each semester we have to pay 15000rs. And we also have to pay the examination fee of approx-1500 to 2000rs. No scholarship has been provided in the self-finance course. No placement but with this course and some good contacts you can easily start your own yoga session and classes.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities are ample in our university. The annual day is glorified with diligence and happiness. They can prepare more events within the campus other than this day. Sports activities are also there as focus is given to physical well being and yoga.

Placement Experience

Placements are provided by the university but less in number. They are enthusiastic about assisting students in any potential. Students who pass out from this college stand get jobs in profiles like a yoga instructor, health guides, etc. as it is a famous college.

Admission

I graduated my intermediate with a good percentage but I wasn't interested in any other courses. I was fascinated by the idea of learning and researching more about yoga. Patanjali university was the only best option I could possibly think of. Hence I applied for an admission and later on I was called for an aptitude test. I got qualified in the test and got an admission.

Campus Life

The college highly supports and encourages physical activities and sports. outdoor games are also a huge part of the curriculum. No where in the college the student is allowed to sit idle and use phones during free hours. They encourage you to play games. Everybody is equally treated and there isn't any discrimination or bias shown.

There are also various events which are organized with the aim of spreading awareness in the society.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course fees are very feasible for the course. The institute charges a very nominal amount of fees for all the courses it offers. The amount of fees which are to be paid for a year amounts to Rs.50, 000. The amount has to be paid partially at the beginning of the semester and the other half the end of the semester.

A bold initiative was taken by our PM Shri Narendra Modi in UN and declaration of 21 June as International Yoga Day since 2015.

Admission

The admission procedure was very simple, The candidate should have passed Graduation or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks for open category and 50% marks for reserved category also I was a local resident of Uttarakhand so 31% seats are reserved for us and some documents like TC, Marksheet, character certificate need to verify at the time of admission.

Faculty

There were total of six lecturers in my course. All of them were highly educated with the required practical knowledge. They always made me understand the subject and fully supported me. There used to be doubtful sessions also which helped me a lot. Each of them had his/her own way to teach the subject. They always tried to make the subject interesting for the students. They used to take our quiz. And when it comes to our actual yoga session, they strictly tested us. Two of them had represented India at the international level. They always shared their life experience with the students. All of them were professional and very helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college gave us full knowledge of yoga. There were practical sessions along with the theory part. Their focus was not only preparing the students physically but also mentally. This has given me a stronger perspective on life. Also, yoga is a legacy that connects you to your own culture and aware you of its importance in one's life. The curriculum was worth it. It gave me sufficient knowledge about the subject and let me know about the applications. It totally prepared me to present myself for the campus placements. One of the best course curriculum I discovered. Yes, it is very relevant to the requirements.

Campus Life

Extracurricular activities are very rare in our university. Only the annual day is celebrated with care and joy. And they can arrange for more events within the campus. Sports activities are also limited, since we for physical well being the entire focus is given to yoga.

Faculty

All the faculty members were very much talented and have been practicing for more than 10 years. That kind of experience was very valuable, especially for a program that has very limited theoretical elements and entirely depends on practical learning.
