Course Curriculum Overview

I'm interested in medicine and Pharmaceutical technology is mostly about the preparation of medicines which is a base material for allopathy medicine. Faculty: student ratio is 4:1.Faculties are super interactive with excellent teaching ability. Exams were in terms of semester and study must be on a regular basis.

Placement Experience

From the final year, students are eligible for campus companies such as resource, Vee Technology to visit for campus hiring. The average package is around 4-5 lpa.95% of our batch students got placed on campus in medical coding. I got placed on campus so I didn't have any plans.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course since my interest was in pharmaceutical chemistry and basic anatomy. Faculty-student ratio is good. The faculty is divided into the professor, associate professor, assistant professor, teaching fellow, and lab staff. The minimum qualification of the faculty is master's degree and a maximum number of post doctorate. For each subject, you have 2-3 internal assessments and 1 semester university exam. The internal semester can be written, objective, seminar ppt, viva voice, assignments, etc. The exam level is difficult but it can be easily cleared with minimum preparation. Revision of internal assessment and basic concepts is more than enough.

Placement Experience

The campus placement for the pharmaceutical technology courses is for 1 or 2 companies only. But more companies related to IT, finance, and management will recruit. Packages in pharma companies are 2-4 LPA, Packages in IT vary from 3.3 LPA to 32 LPA, The average is 6-7 LPA, I got selected in the TCS package of 3.3 LPA. But the student can get placed through the internship and project. In the pharma field you got to put in the step and work for it, faculty will give you referrals.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculties are holding a great profile here. If we are interested to gain knowledge they will help a lot. There will be lots of motivation and many student initiative programs. The curriculum will be a hybrid of biotechnology, chemical engineering and pharmacy. We can approach in any of the above fields for specialization and work. We must maintain a decent profile to shine out in academics as well as co curricular activities. Studying before the exams doesn't work well here. It's hard to grasp everything in a week. A continuous effort from the beginning of semester will be useful for final examinations. Exams will be conducted based on Anna University notification. There will be three monthly test and final examinations to grade students. Other than that, faculties may conduct viva or class tests to make us prepared for exams.

Campus Life

Due to covid pandemic, there is no functions gathering together. But there are few functions like department symposium, annual fest and sports day is celebrated hugely as "Krida". There will be intramural competitions and winners will be given prizes on annual fest. There is a central library for renting books and another library for reading only. Many foreign author books are available here. There are student initiative forum like "Manam". Then NSS, NCC and JRC are actively doing their works. Rotary club is also being held here.

College Events

Our college primarily celebrates three events namely - Kashiyatra, Technex and Spardha KASHIYATRA is a cultural based fest organised in the month of January every year. This fest goes on for 3 days straight. Different other events are organised in this fest. Every day the events are ended with a pro night or a DJ night in which different famous celebrities performs. TECHNEX is the technical fest which is organised in the month of February over a period of three days too. In this fest different colleges participate in the techno events like Robowars, etc. SPARDHA is the sports fest of our college, organised in the month of October over a period of three days. This is the largest sports fest in the North India region. Over 2000 participants came every year to play different sports.

Placement Experience

The placements scenarios has been escalating year by year. Last year all the students of circuital branches got placed easily. Our college has a well established reputation among many companies. They always try to pick as many as students from here with them. Yes, our college does provide an internship to students. Right now the internship process is going on so that's why I haven't got any internship yet. But by the last year records, students got a stipend as high as 2 lacs per month.

College Events

Our college has a big league of extracurricular activities which include sports, music, cultural clubs, scientific clubs, social outreach club etc. Moreover there are four councils here named- Science & Technology Council, Sports Council, Film & Media Council and Cultural Council. Apart from this my college hosts three college festivals named- Kashiyatra, Technex and Spardha as Cultural fest, Technical fest and Sports fest respectively. On the whole it provides a complete exposure of non academic aspects to its students. So many defferent events are held by defferent council at defferent interval of time. when i took admission in IIT BHU Varanasi after some time DJ night was held by sports council so defferent council events going on through out the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I think the fee structure is feasible in IITs. When i took admission in IIT BHU Varanasi in 2015 the fee structure is feasible. In 2015 the fee structure was defferent according to the categories. General and OBC category students fee about 51 thousand and SC, ST and physically challenged person fee was zero. But now the fee structure is defferent for general and OBC students is defferent according to the income so don't worry about the fee of IITs and SC,ST and physically handicapped students fee is same as above. Now come to the mess. Mess charge is 12 thousand for every student per semester.

Placement Experience

Although the placements in the college are very less for civil engineering stream, the other branch students are placed in many IT companies, and even mechanical branch students are placed in some of the companies. About 40-50 students in this college are placed from our previous batch, i.e. 2017 pass out, and for 2018 batch students up to 20-30 students are placed in the campus placements.

Faculty

I think that the faculty members are qualified but we are expecting more of practical explanation from them. The methods of teaching include digital classes and oral explanation. Another method was practical sessions. There is no industry exposure but there are demo classes which are held by people from some MNCs. The course curriculum is useful for us.

● Top Answer By Tamalika Ojha on 14 Aug 20

Ans. Bachelor’s in pharmaceutical engineering at IIT-BHU is one of the most sought out degrees. There is a number of reasons to substantiate the above statement. Firstly, IIT-BHU has been ranked 11 among top engineering colleges in India by NIRF 2020 ranking. This gives an upper-hand to the students passing out from here. The syllabus of Pharmaceutical Engineering incorporates the recent industry trends which keep the students updated with the industry requirement. The placement cell is excellent and provides lucrative packages to the students. Top recruiters in the core sector include Dr. Reddy’s, Zydus, Matrix laboratories, Mylan, Sun-Pharma, etc. As pharmaceutical engineering is more research-oriented the starting packages in core placements are low as compared to the other sectors but it increases with experience. Students can opt for non-core placements too, top non-core recruiters are Sony, IBM, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Musigma, Evaluserve, and many more. Adding on to there is a wide scope of higher studies at foreign universities too.Read more

Ans. Though the core-pharma jobs are scarce, the life-science sector is an ever-growing sector. It is one of the most vibrant and technical industries and with hard work you will be surely paid off. For example, Reckitt Benckiser, a top life-science based MNC offered a package of 16 LPA. However, it only recruited two students. Top recruiters of Pharmaceutical Engineering students at IIT BHU in the core sector include Dr. Reddy’s, Zydus, Matrix laboratories, Mylan, Sun-Pharma, etc. whereas non-core include Sony, IBM, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Musigma, Evaluserve and many more. Alumni of the department are placed in U.S, Malaysia, U.K, and other countries and extend extensive support to the students. Most students bag lucrative internships and pre-placement offers. IIT-BHU has a magnanimous training and placement cell which is responsible for conducting all placement related activities.
