Meghalaya ANM admission is conducted on the basis of merit. Candidates must apply on the online application provided by the Meghalaya state government for admission to ANM and GNM courses. Meghalaya ANM admission process and screening is conducted by the National Rural Health Mission Meghalaya (NRHM) and grants admission to government and private institutions that are participating in the counseling.
Meghalaya ANM Course admission 2024 begins in the month of September 2024. Candidates have to report at the FHW Training School, Ganesh Das Govt. M&CH Hospital, Shillong and/ or Civil Hospital, Tura based on their allocated dates, time and centre displayed against their names in November. The verification of the original documents will also be carried out during the screening process.

Meghalaya ANM Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria put up by the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM), Meghalaya. The detailed eligibility criteria for the ANM category are listed below.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate must have passed the secondary examination or equivalent examination recognised by MBOSE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSC/ HSC and from an institute/ board recognised by the Government of Meghalaya.
- Candidates need to secure at least 40% in the qualifying aggregate.
- Candidates who are sitting for their final examination or are awaiting their final results are also eligible to apply.
- The candidate should be at least 17 years at the time of the application.
- The upper age limit for candidates is 30 years.
- Only the candidates having a domicile certificate for the state of Meghalaya can apply.
- Applicants need to be medically fit.

Meghalaya ANM Admission Process 2024
There is no option of offline registration available to candidates. The entire process of registration for the ANM course is online.
- After the process of online application is over, the National Rural Health Meghalaya (NRHM) will release the merit list based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying examinations.

- Scanned copies of signature.

- Class XII Mark sheet
- Domicile certificate
- SC/ ST certificate (if applicable)
- The merit list will be available on the official website. Candidates who are shortlisted will be called for subsequent screening.

How to Apply for Meghalaya ANM Admission 2024?
- Visit the official website of the Department of Health and Welfare, Government of Meghalaya and click on the registration link.
- Fill out the required personal and academic information such as names, addresses, categories, years of passing and other academic records and communication details carefully.
- After submitting all the details, upload your scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and scanned copies of the 10+2 mark sheet, age proof and domicile certificate in the prescribed format.
- Verify the captcha and submit the application.
- Retain a printout of the filled application form for future references.
Meghalaya ANM Admission 2024: Counselling
Only registered candidates will be eligible for the counselling process.
- The candidates will be allotted specific dates, times and centres in the merit list provided on the website and are required to strictly follow the same.
- Original document verification will also be carried out at the counselling centres.
- Once successful allocation is done, candidates need to submit the required documents and pay the admission fee to reserve their seats for admission within the allotted time.

Meghalaya ANM Admission 2024: Reservation Policy
The reservation policies are with respect to the reservation policy in educational institutes as prescribed by the Government of Meghalaya. The reservation policy is extended to the following categories:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST
- Persons with Disability (PwD) (minimum 40% disability)
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of General Category
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non Creamy Layer (NCL)

Ques. How can lateral entry be secured?
Ans. There is no provision for securing lateral entry. Candidates who want to apply for the ANM and GNM training may apply after their 10+2 examination. However, they need to complete the entire session i.e. 3 years for a GNM course and 2 years for an ANM course to obtain a valid certificate.
Ques. When is the screening for midwifery courses held?
Ans. The screening is held in the month of April/ May, barring unavoidable circumstances. This year, the online registration and subsequent screening was shifted to be held in the month of October/ November.
Ques. Is there any age limit for applying?
Ans. Yes. Candidates need to be at least 17 years during the time of application. The upper age limit is 30 years.
Ques. How are the placement opportunities after a diploma course?
Ans. Since Diploma courses are considered to be professional courses, students get rapid placements and emphasis is also laid on self-employment.
Ques. How many categories can I apply for?
Ans. Candidates can apply for only one category i.e. either ANM or GNM, depending on the eligibility criteria they clear. Duplicate applications or wrong information may lead to the cancellation of the applicant.
