Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee paid per semester has been around 7-9k for me from last 4 semesters as a SC. For generals it has been around 35k per semester. It includes hostel fee, examination fee,gym fee,lab fee, hostel seats and table fee, water and electricity fee which ranges from about 300-3000 for each. This value may change for general category. their is a late fee payment also which increases by 500 per day not paid. The institute provides with DST scholarship which is around 60,000 per year and MCM for other categories which have CGPI of above 7. It also offers other scholarships like reliance etc which are private

Life at IISER M: A hitchhiker's guide

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees is on the higher side considering that this is an Institute of National Importance. For the 1st semester I had to pay Rs 44190 (tuition fees, hostel fees and all other fees combined), and from thereon, every even semester my batch pays Rs 37500 and in the odd semesters we pay Rs. 40190. This includes all kind of fees you need to pay (except for mess fees: that is handled by the Mess Committee and varies every month, with an average of Rs 4000-4500 per month for a 3 meal plan). You need to pay the consolidated amount every semester unless you are from a reserved category that gets tuition fees exemption, which constitutes the majority of this component (around Rs. 33500). The tuition fees increases every year by 10%, and right now the total fees is somewhere near 55k for the latest MS24 batch. Hostels are mandatory so you need to pay hostel fees. There is a merit cum need financial help available available for EWS category and other reserved categories and is around Rs 2500 if you have a CPI >= 8 (it is lower for caste based reservation). But do not rely on it - IISER M Accounts is extremely slow when it comes to payments. Mess also provides financial help if needed but it is very limited. If you need help in applying for external scholarships (such as bonafide certificates and the like) or for educational loan then of course you will receive plenty of help from administration. One final thing I would point out is that compared to other IISERs, IISER Mohali has the lowest fees.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee for a semester is approx 50,000, except for the first semester which is approx 60,000. Fee doesn’t increase much, as it is a government institute. For example, the fee of my second semester was 49,304. It included convocation fee (2000), alumni fee (1000), tuition fee (40,400), examination fee (720), student amenities (720), gym/sports (288), lab contingency (576), hostel seat rent (2,880), and electricity and water fee (720). The fee is same for all students. There are 2 types of scholarship opportunities available for students, the INSPIRE scholarship scheme and the merit-cum-means scholarship scheme.

GLIMPSES OF IISER MOHALI

Fees and Financial Aid:

For our batch the tuition fees is 49058 for the even semesters and 51098 for the odd semesters. As per the central govt. Rules each year theres a hike of fees and surge in number of student intake. Hostel fee is about 720/- semester, two semesters a year. (Included in the main amount) We have INSPIRE scholarship, though not for everyone.

The fees in the colleges are increasing continiously due to poor policies of the government. The cost of survivng in academia for a middle class person has became very difficult and it keeps increasing. The cost of each semster is from 50k to around 60k, which differs in every semester. The significant scholarships are INSPIRE which provide around 80k per year. Also reliance foundation and other scholarships give few lakh as scholarship. Financial aid for sc/st student are avaliable in the campus. But any job or stipend is not avaliable for studnets during their course works.
