IISER Mohali Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

To gain admission to the Bachelor of Science [BS] + Master of Science [MS] in Physical Science at IISER, students must pass either the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) or qualify through JEE Advanced. For JEE Advanced, clearing the JEE Mains is mandatory. The JEE Mains applications open from December to April, while IAT applications are around March or April. IAT occurs once a year in June, and JEE Mains takes place twice annually, with JEE Advanced following once.

IAT includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, making it moderately challenging, similar to JEE Mains but easier than JEE Advanced. Eligibility for the course requires a minimum of 60% in Class 12 for general candidates and 55% for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. A rank of around 2200 in the IAT can secure a general category seat. Reservations are available for OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories, offering fee reductions.

Counseling follows the examination, with a SAF payment of INR 35,000. Scores above 50-70% generally suffice for securing admission. Admission through the JEE Advanced, KVPY, and other channels was previously available but is now primarily through IAT. The admission process involves participating in a centralized counseling process for all seven IISERs, and the college applications typically commence in August.
