I was always interested in indian rich crafts, wanted to help the artisans and promote the Indian arts and crafts in the fashion industry. I enrolled for NIFT but the ranking was not good enough for a general category student so I checked for other government colleges and I found about IICD and got know things from Seniors etc about IICD.
It.had.an. interesting approch to learning.new and various crafts.in the field of designing.focusing on craft sectors of india and taking them forward in our designs. Because of which artisans get a new direction of work.
After completing my 10+2, I decided to pursue my further education in craft and design and in no time, I found out about the Bachelor of Vocational Studies [B.Voc.] + Master of Vocational Studies [M.Voc.] (Crafts & Design) offered at Indian Institute of Crafts and Design - [IICD], Jaipur.
I am currently pursuing the Certificate in Foundation Program in Design + Bachelor of Vocational Studies [B.Voc.] from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design - [IICD], Jaipur. The admission criteria was simple and based on the merit of a student.
The students can apply online to join up with the course and they need to clear the personal interview round to enroll in the college. The college conducts counseling sessions for those who?ve cleared the rounds.
It is the only college in India providing a platform for craft studies and diagnosis. The college is very much recommended. I did Textiles diploma and it was a huge learning experience for me plus the trips and on field experiences made me understand crafts better and also a better person in some ways.
Indian Institute of Crafts and Design or IICD is a premier institution of the country offering creative knowledge and education to the students. M. Voc soft material design course is provided to the students who have 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized Indian Board. The students will be selected on the basis of entrance and merit including interview.
The procedure for admission remains to be the same for all the courses. It begins with filling up the registration form and paying Rs. 1750/- for its submission. Then, comes the entrance exam that has two sections with varying weightage. After the student has cracked the exam, there comes the personal interview. Detailed information is shared on the official website but, a point to remember is that the student must be in a state of calm and relaxation to make sure that he is able to produce something satisfactory during the exam and be confident during the interview.
I registered online on the website of the college by uploading all the necessary documents and making a payment of Rs.1750/-. After which, I gave the Entrance Exam in two parts, in which I was shortlisted.
I filled up the personal and other details in the online registration form, prior to the entrance test. The entrance test is conducted in 2 parts and the shortlisted candidates are announced on the official website of IICD.
