The National Examination and Entrance Test (NEET), established in 2016, is a national-level entrance exam for medical courses, featuring 720 marks distributed over 180 questions. A candidate scoring 501 marks stands amid a fierce competition, as lakhs of aspirants vie for limited spots in desired colleges. The college, established in 2008 and funded by the Uttarakhand government, offers 150 MBBS and 75 paramedical seats. It faces faculty shortages, with some departments staffed by PhD and MSc holders instead of MBBS-qualified doctors.

Despite this, faculty members are experienced postgraduates, and the clinical student-to-faculty ratio is 30:1. Faculty availability declines after two years, often leaving senior students to provide guidance. Exams are rigorous, with multiple tests throughout the course and about 30 out of 150 students facing supplementary exams. The government institution charges an annual tuition fee of INR 50,000, excluding hostel fees, which are an additional INR 6,000. This affordable structure attracts students, especially when compared to private institutions.

The 5.5-year MBBS course includes a one-year internship with a monthly stipend of INR 7,500 to 17,000. Graduates typically enter junior residency, earning INR 60,000 to 70,000 monthly. Those under a government bond serve five years with salaries ranging from INR 70,000 to 80,000 monthly and are guaranteed 100% placement, mostly in public service roles. Two fee structures exist: bonded students pay INR 50,000 annually, while non-bonded students pay INR 1,45,000 to INR 1,56,000.

Scholarships are available for SC/ST or army background students. No financial aid is provided for unreserved categories. Private placements are not offered during internships. After serving the bond, graduates can pursue private opportunities.
