Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) currently offers a range of UG and PG degree programs across a number of disciplines. The undergraduate programs include courses such as BA, B.Com. and B.L.I.Sc. At the PG level, candidates can study MA in seven specializations, M.Sc., M.Com. and M.L.I.Sc.

Admission to all the courses is based on merit in the qualifying examination.
All candidates who completed the 10+2 exam or equivalent, and studied English as a subject are eligible for undergraduate BA and B. Com courses.
For B.L.I.Sc, candidates must complete a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
For MA, M.Sc. and M.Com courses, candidates need to have completed a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject to satisfy eligibility.
The minimum eligibility for M.L.I.Sc is a B.L.I.Sc. degree from MDU, or from a recognized university.

MDU DDE UG Admission 2025

Directorate of Distance Education, MDU, provides B.Com and BA at undergraduate level along with B.L.I.Sc program for the candidates with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Selection to all the courses is offered on the basis of merit. The basic eligibility criterion for BA and B.com is passing 10+2 from a recognized board with English as a compulsory subject.

Key Points:

Candidates who have a compartment in one subject or in English at 10+2 level, will be eligible for admission on a provisional basis to BA/B.Com courses provided they qualify the same subject of compartment in the next annual examination to be held in the month of March.
Such candidates will have to provide the proof of cleared/passed exam before declaration of result of BA and B.Com courses.
Failed candidates’ admission will automatically be cancelled.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in all subjects through supplementary examination are also eligible for admission.
If a candidate fails to pass supplementary exams in all subjects then their admission will be cancelled.

MDU DDE PG Admission 2025

DDE also offers MA, M.Sc, M.Com and M.Lib.Sc courses in various disciplines at the PG level. Graduation in the cognate subject is the desired eligibility criteria for admission. Final admission is based on candidates’ marks in graduation followed by document verification at DDE.

MDU DDE Admission Process 2025

The application form can be filled by following the below-listed steps:

Visit the official website of Distance Education, MDU and click on the link given for registration.
Choose between Fresh Registration and Already Enrolled Students.
Click on ‘Fresh Registration’ for new student registration.
Click on register and a new dialog box will appear where it will ask if the student is already an MDU student or not.
Candidates who are not from MDU need to click on ‘No’ and students from MDU need to click on ‘Yes’.
Now, fill the application form and click on ‘Save and Proceed’.
Login by using a newly assigned e-mail ID and password followed by fulfillment of the rest of the details.
Pay the application fee through challan (Axis Bank).
Take out the print out of application form and send it with the required documents to DDE Office.

Ques. Does MDU DDE admit students based on entrance exam or based on merit?

Ans. MDU DDE carries out a strictly merit-based admission process. For undergraduate programs such as B.A. and B.Com., the list of admitted students is prepared based entirely on 10+2 marks. For post-graduate programs such as M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com., the list of admitted students is prepared based on graduation marks. There is no entrance exam for any course at any level at MDU DDE.

Ques. Are candidates with Compartment/Supplementary in 10+2 eligible for admission?

Ans. Candidates with a compartment in any one subject or English at 10+2 level are allowed to apply provisionally for B.A. and B.Com. at MDU DDE. They have to clear the compartment in the next supplementary exam (March session). If the candidate does not clear the compartment in the next supplementary exam (March session), his/her admission will be cancelled. Candidates who have passed 10+2 using supplementary exams in all subjects are allowed into MDU DDE.

MDU IS GOOD AFTER ALL .

Admission:

The Admission process was too simple. The admission Was based on the marks of the 12th class. No reservation benefits were given to any student. The application fee of the form is 100rupees. The overall process is good after all.

Distant Learning made easier

Admission:

The admission for getting into the course is we should have completed UG. We can either download the application form online or buy it from the campus. After filing the application form, we have to submit the same with all supporting documentation for verification. If we are selected, we have to pay the admission fee and first year fees.
