Various big companies offering a good package comes to college every year and a good number of student get placements every year.
A good faculty having a great mentor skills and expertise in different subjects, teachers are helpful and coordinator.
There are not as many fests as in other colleges but we do have a good number of clubs and societies that makes college life interesting and exciting.

Dislikes

The annual fest is very nice and happening but the regular college life is close to hell if you are an average student.
The fines are more in this college and students faces a lot of problems
The professors are unfriendly and sometimes very rude and not understanding. also i find them pretentious.

St. Xavier's- The Dream College

Likes

The spacious classrooms, and how each individual fits perfectly.
The cafeteria, it is perfect for refreshments during the recess, one gets a lot of varieties to have and enjoy!
The number of societies and clubs it offers to the students, to grow and explore more opportunities.

Dislikes

The punctuality, it is not something to be disliked, but even at serious circumstances, one needs to be quite punctual.
The washrooms need to be more cleaner, and it should be more in number

Placement Experience:

One of the best thing about the campus, or a thing which the students brag about, is the Placement Cell of the college. The placement cell offers various placements with different specilisation, with diversifying its area to the utmost. The quality of placement is stupendous. Areas such as Marketing, Finance, HR, and even to the students who are pursuing professional course such as CA, Actuarires, CFA, CS, and more.

THE FACULTY ARE READILY APPROACHABLE AND THE SENIORS ARE ALSO VERY FRIENDLY AND THEY INVOLVE THE JUNIORS IN ALL THE EVENTS AND MAKE THEM FEEL APPRECIATED AND EVEN REWARD THEM FORR THEIR GOOD WORKS.THE ENVIRONMENT IS SAFE AND COMFORTABLE AROUND. I
THERE ARE A NUMBER OF SOCIETIES PRESENT SO THAT THE STUDENTS CAN FOCUS BOTH ON CURRICULARS AS WELL AS EXTRA CURRICULARS.FOR EVERY INTEREST GROUP THERE IS A SOCIETY PRESENT SO THAT U DEVELOP UR INTEREST GROUPS AND CAN FOCUS EQUALLY ON BOTH ASPECTS.

THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS VERY POOR AND PEOPLE MAY BE DISAPPOINTED SEEING THE INFRASTRUCTURE AS THERRE ARE 4 FLOORS PRESENT AND LIFT IS NOT PRESENT AND PEOPLE WILL NEED TO CLIMB TO 3-4 FLOORS EVERYDAY THAT ALSO IN PROPER TIME

Placement Experience:

THEPLACEMENT PROVIDED IS VERY GOOD INFACT SXC FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY OF PROVIDING THE BEST PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES.BIG MNCS LIKE DELOITTE,PWC ,ETC VISIT THIS COLLEGE PARTICULARLY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENTS AND THEY HIRE MAX STUDENTS FROM OUR COLLEGE PROVIDED ONE SHOULD DEVELOP SOME SOFT SKLLS SO THAT THEY CAN STAND OUT AND MAINTAIN A CGPA ABOVE 7 SO THAT YOUR CHANCES ARE HIGHER.

Likes

The opportunities to develop soft skills as in seminars held where you can be a speaker and present a presentation for your group
The biggest event Xavotsav helps you show your skills in the entertainment field
It provides you with a pool of placements which is a remarkable feature

Dislikes

The campus is not that big as shown in pictures
College promotes some specific sports only like football and basketball
The dress code and discipline is stricter than school and they make you sit roll number wise

Placement Experience:

placements are average to low. Some big companies do come and offer a great salary but demand an extraordinary CGPA of 9 and 9.5 which is very difficult for the level of papers set by St Xavier's college.

Life in SXC!

Likes

Faculty Members : This is the biggest plus and flex because the faculty is very experienced with most of them being PHD holders and their teaching style is truly amazing.
Campus Life: Xaviers is always busy with events and various other fests and activities happening throughout the year. The crowd is full of energy and there is no ragging or fights as well because of strict institutional policies
Campus Placement: Xaviers gives you the best campus placement in Eastern India and henceforth you feel a sense of security that you don’t end up doing a below average job or being unemployed. Kudos to Placement Cell

Dislikes

Infrastructure: Well Xaviers is almost 300 years old building so its a heritage campus and there are restrictions imposed by government on modifications. The infrastructure is decent but can be improved

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell of Xaviers is amazing. The placements they offer is genuinely great considering its Kolkata. There are various companies that come throughout the year and offer diff roles as well like marketing, finance etc. The higest pacakage is given by companies like DE Shaw, White Oak, Meesho etc. Highest was around 24Lpa and average is 6.5Lpa

A Short Review on St. Xavier's College, Kolkata

Likes

The college fest Xavotsav which is organised yearly.
The library of the college, it's the best place to be in the college
The green benches in the college are a good place to spend time

Dislikes

There are strictness and attendance issues are
The morning timings are too difficult to cope up with
It feels more like a school than a college

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell in the college which offers placement each year. Some well known companies like DeShaw, EY, GoDigit, FutureFirst came during the year 2022. The highest package went till 21 lpa However the lowest was around 2.5 lpa

Xaviers and their drama

Likes

The BRAND name. Xaviers is a hype and it has a very good brand name.

Dislikes

The attendance criteria. Compulsory 75% attendance and that too for individual subjects.
People doing other courses alongwith like CA, CS, CMA do not really like this criteria.

There are many societies in our college to promote different aspects of students. The only thing i hate about this is that seniors are really rude. When they conduct interviews for society, they just ask you stupid questions which is not even relevant. They even ask you to dance or sing for their entertainment and then insult you infront of everyone.

St. Xavier's College kolkata

Likes

There is NCC and NSS program . And every student has to participate in atleast one of them.
There is outdoor games like Football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc.
There is indoor games like chess, carrom, table tennis, checker, etc.

Dislikes

The college is strict with their rules but ita a good thing.
If you fail to cover the min attendance criteria you have to do library hours and pay fee.

After 5th semester , a student is eligible for placements and big companies like TCS, Reliance, etc. Offers opportunities to students. The package ranges 2-3lpa on average. This is all I know about it as I'm in 3rd sem for now.

SXC - a dream come true for every student.

Likes

NCC and NSS - It was mandatory for students to participate in atleast one of them and they also provide NCC exam certificates and NSS services certificate. And through the college you can actually apply for Army training.This contains social credits.
Every student has to participate atleast in one activity like college dance group, college music band, etc. to encourage them on their non-academic side. Participation also contains non-academic credits.
There are plenty of sports and indoor games. Such as football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, throwball, javelin throw,weight lifting,etc. in sports and Carrom, chess, table tennis,checkers,etc. in indoor games. Big tournaments are also held.

Dislikes

Early morning lectures... 🥹 If you're in the morning section so I changed to bcom evening.
A little strict than other colleges. But I guess that it is necessary to maintain the decorum of the college.

Placement Experience:

After 5th sem , students are eligible for placements. Huge companies like TCS visits the campus. 2- 3 lpa is average. I just have a plan to get the placement in a good company and work therefore 6 months to gather experience and move to a bigger company.

SXC Kolkata is Queering other colleges of Kolkata!!

The first thing is the college location as it is located in Central Kolkata.
Competitive environment at college is provided and therefore some or the other competition are always going on at our campus.
Finally it's Bengal and more so it's Kolkata so singing and dancing in events is also quite common here.

Dislikes

Morning college only has a batch of boys and that's like a bit of discrimination.

KPMG, E&Y and the big four that we call are the ones who get at SXC Campus. For B.Com (Hons) highest package so far was when E&Y broke the bank at 28 Lpa for one of the students in 2023. Almost 75% students are placed here and considering the demand and supply, this is a great ratio.

A COMPLETE COLLEGE - ST XAVIER'S COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS) KOLKATA

Likes

The college is a great place for holistic development as not only studies but many opportunities for extracurriculars are also available
The crowd is very diversified and thus there are variety of cultures to learn from
The college is very particular about discipline and that does create a huge impact on a student's personality

Placement Experience:

Campus placemnts are offered in the college on the yearly basis and theaverage placement according to the data is 3.50lpa - 24lpa (lakh per annum) , companies like TCS DELOITTE KPMC INFOSYS TITAN JP MORGAN HSBC ect provides opportunities for placement in the college and 67 percent of people are placed (stats of the 2024 batch).
