JGEC Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The college is in a very rural place hence it doesn't get the attention it deserves. That affects the placements as well and also inspite of being a premier government engineering college of West Bengal, students still think twice before taking admission due to its rural area.

We had a real charming time for the period 1975-1980 at our college. Staying away at Hostel from houses added to our independence and we got a chance to closely mix with people of varied taste and culture.All our batchmates still cherish the college days and our bonding with college/hostel was so strong that even now, every year a group of about 25 to 30 from our batch try to visit the campus to recollect the old memories.

Being a Government College, it is one of the best choices for West Bengal students in engineering. It's odd location is the problem. Besides it, it is the best college In West Bengal. You never feel any homesick ness after entering JOLU.

More or less standard but need to increase the standards with respect to extra curricular activities.The quality of food in the canteen need to be increased. Teaching standards are more back dated and hence need to be enhanced with smart board and other facilities.

The college management is good except it should be more friendly towards students.

Overall, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering college is a very good college to get admission in and take your career to a very next level by using all the necessary facilities and getting a peaceful environment and a healthy relationship between seniors and teachers.

Our college is autonomous, having 65 acor land. Have separate six engineering department. Have four boys and one girl hostel. Also have quaters for the professor. Have a big auditorium, five play ground.

Campus Job Placement needs improvement. Faculty should also groom students about new technology and softwares used by companies. The curriculum should be revised and updated to the new standards. More emphasis on extra curricular activities.

The infrastructure of our college should be improved. Being a old college, we do not have smart classes in all the classrooms. If this can be improved, overall everything is good here and innovations are taking place everyday here.

It is a reputed college and one of the prestigious college of West Bengal. It has a glorious history of more than 50 years and it is still going strong. Students graduated from this college have quite excelled in life and are at various parts of the world.
