KLS Vishwanathrao Deshpande Rural Institute of Technology (VDRIT) was established in 2004 by the initiation and support of Shri R V Deshpande former minister government of karanataka. It is affiliated by Visvesvaraya Technological University. It is running under Karnatak Law Society. The College has developed excellent infrastructural facilities and an academic climate to train the students to meet the challenges posed by rapid changing techno-economic scenario. The institution has an excellent, well qualified and experienced faculty. The Institute is located on a 26 acres campus, cradled by a picturesque landscape. The College has been approved by AICTE.

The fee for the BE course is INR 7.64 Lakhs. Candidate must have minimum aggregate marks of 45% of V & VI semesters (40% marks in case of SC/ST & OBC). The candidates having a Diploma from Karnataka and coming through CET cell are eligible for admission to 3rd-semester B.E in the branch of their study in Diploma. A candidate who is admitted to the 3rd semester will have to study bridge courses as prescribed in the syllabus supplied by VTU.
