Remarks:

The college is known for its faculties. The case reading way of teaching is highly valuable as it helps you to apply your book knowledge to the real world problems. The admission process involves an aptitude followed by a group discussion and then an interview round only after which you get admission. The procedure generally starts in the month of December and gets over by the month of February.

Remarks:

Initially i was not sure about whether to take take admission in 2019 or 2020, because i was not satisfied with my cat performance in 2018. But later on when my nmat score was out and i scored 180 in nmat, i gained some confidence and searched for colleges that accept nmat score in google. There i found few colleges and ibs hyd was one of them. I consulted my cousin who did his mba in 2016, and he suggested me ibs hyd, since, it has residential course and campus life is much essential for mba degree. There after i applied for ibs hyd in the month of january 2019, the form price was rs 1800 and got a call for gd pi process, which held in the month of february, 2019. The cutoff for ibs hyd nmat score was 150+. On 24th february my process was held and the result was out on 1st march. In the application, there was a coloumn in which we had to give preferences for the ibs campus to which we want to opt for. There are total 9 campuses of ibs in india. I gave ibs hyderabad as first prefrence and mumbai as second preference. After the gdpi process, there was a composite marks given based on the performance of gdpi, class 10th, 12th, graduation marks. My graduation marks was low and so my composite score came down to 86.98 percentile and i was alloted ibs mumbai campus initially. There after i mailed the college regarding shift in the campus if the cutoff falls gradually and to book the seat, we had to deposit 80000rs to the college, which later we can withdraw, if we want to switch to some other college. After on 1 month, the cutoff for ibs hyd had dropped and finally i got ibs hyd campus.

If I talk about the infrastructure of IBS, Hyderabad, it is good, but little bit hotchpotch on campus because the students of all streams study under one roof. The hostel is double occupancy; you have to pay extra for your private room. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and classes are too big.

Everything is good here. The rules in the hostel are very strict for MBA students, which shouldn't be there for MBA students. Food served in the mess is good and hygienic. Sports and games are good. Our college offers 12 sports and games. There is a gym facility, but it's not well-maintained.

How is the life of a student at IBS Hyderabad?

Girish Singh
SagardeepMBA in Marketing, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2018)

At IBS Hyderabad, you will experience a unique and transformative journey in your MBA education. This college is not bound by traditional discipline-based curriculum but instead provides you with the opportunity to develop your skills and become a better working professional. The journey can be divided into three phases: Realization, Launchpad, and Accomplishment.

During the first few months, you will have realizations about the challenges of college life, such as average quality food and poor facilities. However, you have the option to either complain about these issues or try to adjust and make the best of the situation. Choosing the latter will allow you to turn IBS Hyderabad into your second home, where you will build relationships with classmates and make your studies enjoyable.

In the third semester, after completing a summer internship, you will experience a completely different environment. The college challenges you to improve and perform better in all areas of your life. With competitive placements and classmates, you will push yourself to reach your full potential.

Finally, in the Accomplishment phase, you will achieve remarkable things and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. You will also be challenged to try new things, such as a stand-up act, which will help you grow as a person.

In conclusion, anyone can join IBS Hyderabad regardless of their background or scores. However, to fully take advantage of the opportunities available, it is important to be willing to work hard and change yourself. The college will give you what you contribute to it, so it is up to you to decide if IBS Hyderabad is worth your investment.

I have 2 years of work experience and I have got admission to IBS Hyderabad. Should I join? Is it good?

Saija LuthraStudied at IBS Hyderabad

To make an informed decision, you need to analyze your future prospects. Consider where you see yourself two years from now, or, if money is a primary concern for you, estimate how much you will earn in two years.

The average package offered by IBS Hyderabad is 6 lakhs. However, if you have a couple of years of experience and are in the top 10th percentile of your batch, there is a good chance you could earn 7-8 lakhs. In this case, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would be a viable option if you don't see yourself earning a similar salary within two years.

Furthermore, you should evaluate your ability to gain admission to a better business school such as an IIM. If you have the potential to do so, it would be a wise decision to invest your efforts into pursuing this opportunity. However, if you really believe that you are not in that league, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would still be a viable option, as discussed in the second paragraph.

How is IBS Hyderabad for MBA co-curricular, extra curriculum, campus life, and environment?

Satyam Purwar
Shubham GuptaStudied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad

In pursuing an MBA at IBS Hyderabad, a case-based study methodology is utilized for teaching. The professor will provide a case for every class, and students must prepare for the case by reviewing relevant chapters and linking the concepts to the practical example discussed in the case. During class, the professor will manage the discussions on the case and students will present their viewpoints, which may be accepted or countered by the professor. The professor will guide the discussions to ensure the correct understanding of concepts is reached. In some instances, concepts will be taught by the professor. However, the college encourages self-study and does not spoon-feed the students.

A wide range of student clubs is available on campus, covering various fields. Each club is managed by students with a professor acting as a mentor. The clubs are responsible for conducting various activities such as quizzes, treasure hunts, guest lectures, movie screenings, sports competitions, and more. These clubs provide students with exposure to event management.

Annual events include a festival in January, where all clubs are responsible for preparing different events, and an annual sports fest organized by the sports club, where students from different colleges participate.

IBS Hyderabad offers a vibrant campus life with facilities such as a resort-like environment, two food messes, two cafeterias, an all-night cafeteria, and a well-equipped gym. The clubs schedule events during weekends and the college have a bus service to the city. On weekdays, buses run only in the evenings while on weekends they run throughout the day. Food festivals are regularly organized in the food messes, and there are many small dhabas and restaurants near the campus to cater to students' taste buds.
