Remarks

Initially i was not sure about whether to take take admission in 2019 or 2020, because i was not satisfied with my cat performance in 2018. But later on when my nmat score was out and i scored 180 in nmat, i gained some confidence and searched for colleges that accept nmat score in google. There i found few colleges and ibs hyd was one of them. I consulted my cousin who did his mba in 2016, and he suggested me ibs hyd, since, it has residential course and campus life is much essential for mba degree. There after i applied for ibs hyd in the month of january 2019, the form price was rs 1800 and got a call for gd pi process, which held in the month of february, 2019. The cutoff for ibs hyd nmat score was 150+. On 24th february my process was held and the result was out on 1st march. In the application, there was a coloumn in which we had to give preferences for the ibs campus to which we want to opt for. There are total 9 campuses of ibs in india. I gave ibs hyderabad as first prefrence and mumbai as second preference. After the gdpi process, there was a composite marks given based on the performance of gdpi, class 10th, 12th, graduation marks. My graduation marks was low and so my composite score came down to 86.98 percentile and i was alloted ibs mumbai campus initially. There after i mailed the college regarding shift in the campus if the cutoff falls gradually and to book the seat, we had to deposit 80000rs to the college, which later we can withdraw, if we want to switch to some other college. After on 1 month, the cutoff for ibs hyd had dropped and finally i got ibs hyd campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

In ibs hyderabad, there are 100 students in per section for the first two semesters. The overall faculty quality at ibs hyd is good. All are phd holders. There is case study based learning in the class. Finance and marketing faculty are really good but that is not the case for operations and hr. In operations, there are only handful faculty members who are nice and rest are average. The same is the case for hr domain as well. Ibs hyd is known for finance and undoubtedly finance is taught well at ibs hyd. The faculty members really put a lot of effort in teaching. There is a continuous evaluation process for the students. This consists of 10% component. Then there are class tests and projects which consists of 50% component and the end term exams consist of 40% component. The exams are not that tough. If one is regular in the class, he/she can easily score good marks in the exam and the marking is relative among the 1200 students.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements are offered at ibs hyderabd. There is almost 90% placement in the campus. The average ctc is 7lpa. There are many good companies taking part in placement process but the placement shortlisting is not done transparently. There is a lot of manipulation happening at the shortlisting process for the placement.

College Events

4

Campus life is very good. The campus area is very large with full greenery everywhere. There are many clubs in the campus. Almost 30 clubs are there which are run by students. There are events organised almost every weekends by the clubs. Students learn many things from the clubs. The annual cultural fest "Trishna" Is also too good to miss. There are many colleges that take part in the fest "Trishna". There is also a sports fest "Aaveg", in which also many colleges take part. The classroom is also centally air conditioned. Overall campus life is very good for the students with gym, footbal field, cricket fiek=ld, rennis court, indoor and outdoor games amenities avalaible.

Fee Structure And Facilities

264000 for sem1, 264000 for sem 2, 264000 for summer internship, 264000 for sem 3, 268000 for sem4. The extra rs 4000 is for the convocation in sem 4. If the student is above 7 pointer, he/she can get scholarship of rs 5000-10000 after semester 2. As per the campus placements are concerned, that is sheer luck to get into a good company. This is because the shortlisting process is simply random process by the college. Even if you have a good cv, good pointer, you may not get shortlisted for the process in a decent company. In a batch of 1200 students, getting placed in a good company is really luck and a bit hard work as well. The ctc ranges from 5lpa to 50lpa. There are many companies that take part in the process.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is very good at ibs hyderabad. There are single sharing and double sharing rooms. The rooms are quite good with attached balcony. The double sharing rooms are like flat types, 2bhk, 3bhk flats. For the single sharing rooms, there are common washrooms and attached washrooms rooms. The cost for single sharing attached washroom is rs 55000 per semester, rs 45000 for single sharing common washroom, rs 50000 for double sharing attached washroom, rs 40000 for double sharing common washroom. The mess food is also good. 4 times meals are served with special meals on festival days.

Admission

There was nothing written process for the admission, only gd and pi was there. The gd topic was "Are online exams better than pen and paper exam", we were divided into a batch of 10 students and given a time of 20 mins for speaking. After gd, there was pi round and it was not so difficult. My questions were "Introduce yourself, hobbies etc." When i said my hpobby is reading detective stories, i was asked to narrate a story which i liked the most and that's how the interview ended. Overall gd-pi rounds were a cake walk for me. I joined time, kolkata for preparing cat 2018 and there itself they made me prepare for all the gdpi process.

To settle in the good financial sector and to improve my skills. The student ratio is less in MBA courses. The faculty is less supportive. The faculty is well educated with Ph.D. and Doctraits, Method of teaching should be changed. There was no time for preparation for term exams. It was quite difficult to pass.
