RIT Chennai Admission 2026

RIT Chennai offers admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering & Technology. For undergraduate admissions, candidates should have cleared 10+2 with 50%, while graduates with 50% are eligible to apply for postgraduate programs. Candidates must note that RIT Chennai does NOT have any application fee. Eligible candidates, if interested, may follow the steps given below to apply for RIT Chennai Admissions.

NOTE: Candidates can block their seats in their interested department well in advance and the same will be confirmed only after the 12 th board exam results. This is applicable for both management quota and general quota. For General quota seats, students will have to apply for TNEA counselling with their college code.

A college review

Likes

It is a student friendly college and it has student friendly faculties.
The college timing is 8 to 3 , it provides some leisure time for students.
It is now an autonomous college. It provides good lab facilities for computer science department.

Dislikes

The college is too small. If u expect a big college,it is not there.
The physical activities and sports are seemed to be less important here.
It only has vegetarian canteen and mess.

Students view on course curriculum

Since our college has gained autonomous status previous year, so they are following the same anna University course with slight modifications in the course syllabus. They will provide lab session for some subjects and they are not so effective as long as we are keen to learn.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

The college needs every student to take internship and valuable courses that can support their portfolio. They also provide intership in 3rd and 4th year of studies. They also support the students to take more projects and work on them.

Placement scenario in campus

Currently i am not a final year student. But if you are the kind of student who learns more in self and develope ur skills up to date can be surely placed. Since now is the recession time and the tech field is manipulated by AI the placement requires more skilled ones and a guy who can communicate well. If u can able to have that both then no need to worry about placements. They will also provide all the paths to succeed and we have to use it .

What is the total fees of the course?

The tuition fee as per my batch is upto 1.5 L for the non first graduate students but when u are a first graduate then they will reduce 25 k and so the fee will be 1.25 L and if u are hostel student, the hostel fee will be 75k.

Various clubs and facilities available in campus

The college has now started to concentrate on conducting more events like culturals and more webinars and symposiums. There are almost nearly 7 clubs for entertainment and they are mostly taken control by our students, only the management of those clubs is by faculties. The sports are not much supported as per my view.

Hostel accommodation in the campus

The hostel which is within the campus is good for the reasonable fees.But due to the excessive admission of students in the previous year,the hostel can't hold all those students. So they are preparing some new hostel for them.The mess food is completely veg and they provide only eggs. They provide snacks at 4 to 5 pm and also they provide tea on the exam times in late night.

Students view on faculties

The faculty support of RIT Chennai, has been good as there many student friendly teachers whom will give proper guidance if we approach them.Most of the faculties are assistant professors and have some experienced professors too. The interaction with maximum faculty is easier and more useful.

The admission to the college is through the tamilnadu engineering councelling which is applied by ur 12 th marks.The application form can be found in their official website.If you are the high cutoff student then u can also avail for reduction in fees which can be clarified in administrative office.

The reason behind choosing this college is that when compared with other colleges and universities my college offers more scholarships and placement which is more important than the size of the campus.No i didn't apply for admission in other colleges because in other colleges only money and admission matters where people are investing lakhs and lakhs of money for just completing a basic btech course of four years and after four years there is no guarantee that you would get placed in a company.

The college also offers B.E. Lateral entry admission for which candidates must obtain a Diploma in engineering/technology with a minimum of 50% marks or 45% to get the admission in BE.

RIT Chennai does not conduct any entrance examination for admission to B.E. Computer Science Engineering. It accepts the TNEA counselling for admission.
