Velammal Engineering College (VEC) is a private institution established in 1995 by Velammal Educational Trust. It is affiliated to Anna University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also an ISO certified institution. It was the first private engineering College to obtain an ISO certificate from the National Board of Accreditation. - Library: VEC has a very well-furnished, ventilated & spacious library with an area of around 24,000 sq. ft. It contains 76118 volumes of books, 178 national and international journals, and 9517 online journals. It follows the Open System Access with well-equipped number of Educational video/ CD’s and Audio Cassettes as well. The library comprises of Stack hall with reading room, book bank sections, technical section, reprography sections to cater to every need of the students.
- Hostel: VEC has enabled separate accommodations for girls and boys. The hostel can house 300 girls & 600 boys. One room can accommodate 2 students Single room facility is given to the PG & final years Students. Mess facility is also provided with a dining hall and hygienic food is served.
- Student Counselling Service: The college has a student counseling department where a staff member counsels every student once a week. It looks after the students’ performance and how it can be improved. Whenever necessary, parents are also invited to discuss their wards’ report.

My admission process was through government quota... That is I attended a counselling for engineering under Anna university... And for my cutoff based on(physics, chemistry, maths) it was 180.04 and went into second round of counselling and got admission in velammal engineering college... And after it was confirmed I was told to bring my documents and pay the fees for the academic year and this is my eligibility in joining the course and the admission process was via government quota

I applied for engineering Council, the application was available in the website, fill the application forms and submit the form next the process we have to select the courses and colleges you want, finally i got the college in velammal engineering college based on my cut offf and i am successfully completed the colleges

- None of the things are in favour of students. Only one beautiful thing in college is, I got good friends.
- Small campus but enjoyed with friends and had good friendly faculties.
Dislikes
- Internal politics plays a major roles in the campus.
- No opportunity for other students to come up.

Process was so smooth. I joined by management quota. Application form is in the college website. No entrance exams were there. 100% placement records for CSE and IT students. AI & DS was introduced. Join here only if you want to study and no enjoyment.

- College timing couldve been a bit shorter considering it ends by 4.00 which seems very huge.

The admission process was through management and the eligibility of the course required minimum of the cutoff of 189 and above approximately and the application form and the fees and dates could be found at the official college website,the admission process was alright and no need for any further improvement on the case.and i didn't avail any reservation

The eligibility for applying is to be a 12th graduate.The application is done via TNEA(Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission).As I applied during Covid time, the entire process was online.I just had to visit the college after my seat was confirmer.Speaking about the counseling, we had 4 rounds which is entirely based on your cutoff in 12th board exams.i.e Cutoff = (Maths marks/100) +(Physics and Chemistry both converted to 50) divided by 2.During the 2022 counseling 185 was the cutoff for the first round.I was given this college in second round of the counseling.Speaking of Exam difficulty,the Tamilnadu board is improving its syllabus every year for neet ans IItjee aspirants.So it's getting tougher to obtain good marks, but overall when compared to other boards the exams are at a moderate level.The admission process in my college wasnt organized very well,the staff and the entire admission team could have done a token based admission process.

In terms of application process, we have a addmission office where all admission procedures takes place , I guess the admission form fees was around 500. The process is straightforward. You need the allotment order and you should come to college for admission within the stipulated time if reservation seat , if it's management seat it's preferable to come as early as possible to get seat for this course. There's no separate exams for entrance. It's just through TNEA or through management.
