Velammal Engineering College ranks 4th among the engineering colleges. The placement is above 90% every year. 

Panimalar is a Christian minority institution affiliated to Anna University. The institute ranks 6th in Chennai and invites more than 100 companies every year.

RMK provides students with enough placements of 70-99%. It is affiliated to Anna University and is widely recognized for its academic standards. The institute ranks 30th in Tamil Nadu by NIRF 2020 and consists of a faculty strength of 300 members.

Velammal Engineering

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 for admission in UG courses. 
• The selection for BTech/BE program is made through TNEA.

Panimalar

• The candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects. 
• The candidates must have a valid TNEA score.
• The cutoff required is in the range of 3068-9058.
• The seats allocated is 60.
• The fees required is INR 60,000.

RMK Engineering College

• The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with 50% marks from a recognized board with physics, chemistry, and maths.
• A valid score of TNEA with a cutoff range of 1476-9809 is required.
• The total seats allocated is 120.
• The total fees required is INR 55,000.

Placements:- 

Velammal Engineering College provides a regular 95% placements every year.

Panimalar College provides good placement opportunities for the students. Nearly 35 companies visit every year and 70% of the students get placed. 

RMK College provides good placement opportunities and nearly 200 companies visit the campus. 

The top recruiting companies are Amazon, HCL, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Ericsson, eBay, MU Sigma, Google, etc. 

All these colleges will teach the students to get good marks. However, RMK provides better placement opportunities than the rest.

Both these colleges have good placement records along with decent management. The hostel facilities of both these institutes are also good. The students can learn freely without any stress.

It has been ranked 61 by Times 2020 and 66 by India Today 2020. The college offers 16 courses across 3 streams. The total number of seats is 880. The fees are INR 1.35-2 lakhs for BE/ BTech and INR 1 lakh for ME/ MTech.

• The placement rate is around 80% with the highest salary of INR 11 lakhs and the average salary of INR 4 lakhs.

In terms of placement opportunities, Velammal and RMK Engineering College are better as compared to Panimalar Engineering College. The fee structure is almost similar in all three colleges.

Rajalakshmi Engineering College and Velammal Engineering College, both are private colleges in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and affiliated to Anna University.

Rajalakshmi Engineering College:

Rajalakshmi Engineering College has been ranked 73 for Private Engineering by India Today 2020, 100 by The Week 2019, and 106 by NIRF 2020. The college offers 31 courses across 4 streams. The courses offered are BE, ME/ MTech, MBA, and Ph.D.

Fees: The course fee ranges between INR 70,000 to INR 2 lakhs for various courses.

• UG courses: For BE/ BTech admission, TNEA rank is considered. Lateral entry is also offered.

SASTRA is a deemed to be University located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It has been ranked 37 by NIRF 2020. Whereas, Velammal Institute of Technology is a private college affiliated to Anna University and is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is AICTE approved and has been accredited by NAAC ‘A’ grade. It has been ranked 93 for engineering by Times 2019.

CSE from SASTRA:

Fee Structure: INR 6.20 lakhs

Admission criteria:

• The minimum eligibility is12th with at least 60% with subject combination Physics, Mathematics.

• For admission, JEE Mains rank is considered.

• 70% of seats are filled on the basis of 12th marks and JEE Mains.

• The remaining 30% of seats are filled on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th.

Admission criteria:

• 12th with minimum 45% (40% for backward classes) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or candidates should have passed any one of the vocational subjects (Draughtsman Civil, Auto Mechanic, Textile Technology, General Machinist, Electronic Equipments) with any of the subjects from Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.

• Admission is based on the performance of the students in the TNEA exam.
