Very greenish campus to move around and enjoy
Good food is available in the canteen to eat
The college has good facilities of lab for students

The placements are not that good but okayish
The college has very good ratio of students
The college has many clubs in which u can take part

See i applied for tolani college in pune for btech in marine engineering but could not make it due to some deical issues which made me choose kj somaiya colllege of engineering in rai as my btech degree

Admission:

Other colleges were DJ Sanghvi and SPIT Those colleges had higher cutoff than expected. Admission process of KJSIT is structured and according to merit. There is a minority quota of 51 percent seats for gujarati linguistic category students.

Great environmental at college. Good facilities
Placements is improving every year. Fests and hackathons are conducted regularly

Dislikes

Nothing as such ,maybe 75% attendance policy.

So i also applied at other mhtcet college. But this college placements seem better like 9 lakhs average and it seemed to go up. Cse average is even higher at 11 lakhs. Also college is nearer to thane,dombivali compared to other colleges

My college canteen service is very good and food aslo

The seniors are really helpful all the notes and materials for the exams are provided by seniors
The councils here have achieved a lot of things and are really good
Great fests especially symphony, it is the biggest fest that takes place over here

Dislikes

Fees is just too high, 5-6 lakhs fees per year for btech is not justified
A lot of crowd here is only for degree so you have to find your group
75 percent attendance criteria is the worst part

Admission:

I chose this over other colleges based on average package and the name value I couldn't make it to other colleges because of my JEE score For admission you should apply from their official website in engineering section, the admission start from somewhere around April(the forms)

Kj Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidhyavihar. Unbeatable campus

Likes

The college offers a wide range of extracurricular activities.
The campus is well-maintained, and the food provided in the canteen is of high quality.
The institution possesses well-equipped laboratories.

Dislikes

The senior faculty members can sometimes be perceived as being impolite.
The restrooms could be improved in terms of cleanliness and overall quality.
Attendance criteria is such a pain in the neck.

Admission:

I was also accepted to NMIMS, however, I ultimately chose KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research due to its proximity to my residence and its superior cultural environment. Somaiya has a rich tradition and cultural heritage, which is evident in the various festivals that are celebrated on campus. Additionally, the sprawling green campus enhances the overall experience.

KJ Somaiya is better than the rest!!

Ours is autonomous college and I can easily say that our course is better than that of Mumbai University.
Advanced classrooms and advanced labs have made our college among the most looked upon college by the students.
If you look at the campus we have and the kind of maintenance being done their, the fees is nothing.

Dislikes

Everything is updated here but the library as it still carries some old stock.

Admission:

Honestly I didn't even gave MH-CET. I just gave JEE and Enteance-1. Entrance-1 is KJ Somaiaya's entrance test. For our course the top level cut off studnets got the admissions here. After CSE it was our course that was in major demand.

KJ Somaiya, worth it ?

Likes

A huge campus with Ac rooms, multiple canteens.
Multiple companies for placements are available.
Various Sports opportunities available .

Dislikes

Unhygienic canteen of engineering. Flies all around.
Moody faculty everyday. But not that strict.
Very weird college crowd. Difficult to mix in.

Admission:

This college was in my same city, hence opted for this college. It is a reknowned college, with good faculties, proper workbase, nice campus. I applied for mamy colleges: VIT, SRM, BITS, NIT, and many more. I got admission in VIT and SRM, but the work environment was not proper. After my first JEE attempt, I got into KJ Somaiya College of Engineering. I applied on their online webpage and after round 1 admissions, I got an admission mail. KJ takes admission on the basis of JEE mains score or PERA Cet, in 2021. Those who apply first, get their seats first.

My College Experience

Likes

The Faculty members are very friendly and supportive.
There are lots of opportunities for the students for networking, sports. Also there are many clubs and committees in our college.
The Somaiya Tag we get is really helpful if anyone wants to go for masters outside of India.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is decent but can be better.
Canteen food is also not upto to the mark. There are no varities on the menu.
75 % Attendance Criteria is compulsory and you have to follow it, otherwise they give you additional tasks and also call your parents.

Admission:

So to take admission in this college you have to give the MHT-CET exam which is conducted every year after the 12th board exam. The syllabus for this exam is same as for the 12th boards and the difficulty level is easy to moderate. There is no exam conducted by the college seperately. You can also take admission through JEE MAIN score. Generally the cutoff through CET is above 93 percentile for CSE branch . But the college has a Gujarati quota, for them it is around 88 percentile. Most of the students are from gujarati minority.
