Wilfrid Laurier University Scholarships 2025 for Indian & International Students

• There is only 1 or 2 scholarships for international students; that is all I know about scholarships. I didn't receive any nor any of my friends. But most of them are for Canadians or Indigenous people.

• Off-Campus, I lived with my family in Brampton, which was about a 100km away from the university. I bought a secondhandcar, and I drove it twice a week to the university.
• As per my observation, the monthly rent was 700-900 CAD/monthly, some included utilities and some did not.
• Challenges people faced were mostly with getting job to pay rent, or with lease agreements or landlords.
• Check the place and landlord thoroughly, also try to negotiate the best you can and don't for On-campus accommodation, and be aware of the frauds going on Facebook Marketplace.
• I lived 100kms away 100 kmhe university and Indians stay majorly in Kitchener and Brampton

• I did not myself receive any scholarships for this course but I know 3 of my batchmates who did received it, but they received it because they chose to pursue the thesis based program of the Master's degree whereas I chose the coursework option.
• From my knowledge, 1 of those students had his whole tuition fee paid, and the other two received somewhere between $4000-$6000 CAD per term.
   

• I found accommodation through facebook marketplace. My rent was $700 which included laundry and utilities (electricity and water).
• I did not really face any challenges while finding accommodation, but when securing it, I had to make a decision within 2 days after viewing because of it's high demand.
• For future students, I would recommend to get a private room if possible because then you can focus a lot on your studies.
• There's Facebook marketplace, Kijiji and real estate agencies which rent out and if you find real estate agency which specializes in student housing (WCRI in my city, Waterloo), then you can find pretty cheap rooms near university campuses.
• My accommodation is around 4 KM away from the campus. Most of the Indian students live in the city of Kitchener, but some groups did live near the university but they had to share their rooms with at least 3-4 other people to afford those places.
   

Got a scholarship for $2000 which was automatically given depending on my marks.

Lower tuition costs, a good business program, the chance of co-op.

No, I have not been eligible to avail of any such scholarships so far. However this semester I am expecting to be on the honor roll and get a scholarship that is academic.

Because it had a small campus and a community feel. I enjoyed the feel of the campus when I was researching it. Additionally, this was one of the few universities in Canada where they did offer a co-op program to art students.

It had the program I wanted and has a really good community. The campus is nice and small so it is easy to get to know everyone. The professors are nice and helpful. The university staff help make the school feel welcoming so I went.

I opted for this university because of the unique program that it provided. Political science BA with an LLB Law degree in England. It also had a small campus which made it more personalized. It is number 1 in student satisfaction.

I received OSAP which is through an ontario. The process includes filling out a form about where you live, what school you are going to and how much money your parents make. After that, they estimate how much money you will receive and then in the first semester of school you get half of it and the next semester you get the other half.

It was one of the only options for me to take Kinesiology because in high school I didn't take advanced math or chemistry. I have always loved the school because my older sister studies here as well, so when I got accepted it was an easy decision.

Yes, I have applied for OSAP which was really simple and easy to apply for but Doug Ford is making it harder and harder to receive funding so I don't know what will happen in the future.

Because I got to move away from home and experience living on my own as well as gaining the freedom of having my own place without someone always asking me questions. As well as the program here at Laurier is amazing for business.

Friends and a good social life. This school offers a lot of clubs and extra school activities. Laurier has a good party life and also is good for all kind of students who may not like partying, the gym is also really nice

Yes, in first year I received an entrance scholarship for my high school grades and I used OSAP. This year I used OSAP. Next year I will use OSAP and have received a Laurier financial aid bursary!

I chose Laurier because of the small campus size, program reputation, and it is close to my home town. Laurier has smaller class sizes which makes learning a more personal experience and you are able to get more attention from your professors!
