Photograph and Signature Specifications

• Photo should be taken within the last six months with natural lighting.

Educational Document Requirements

CLAT 2027 is open to students who have passed Class 12 or are appearing in 2027. The educational documents you need depend on your current status.

If you have already passed Class 12:

• Class 10 marksheet or birth certificate — for proof of date of birth.
• Class 12 marksheet — showing a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST students). There is no minimum percentage requirement for PwD students.

If you are appearing in Class 12 in 2027:

Category-wise Document Requirements

Students applying under reserved categories must upload a valid certificate issued by the prescribed authority. An expired or incorrectly formatted certificate results in the loss of reservation benefit at counselling, even if the form was accepted during registration.

OBC-NCL applicants must note: The certificate must be for the current financial year (2026–27). Certificates issued in earlier financial years are not accepted at the CLAT counselling stage, even if they were uploaded successfully during registration. Obtain a fresh certificate well before counselling begins.

How to Upload Documents in CLAT 2027 Form

The CLAT 2027 application form has a dedicated document upload page. Follow these steps to complete the upload without errors.

1. Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click on the CLAT 2027 Registration link.
2. Register with your email ID and mobile number to create a login. Note the application ID and password.
3. Log in and fill in personal details, academic information, programme preference (UG/PG), and category details.
4. On the Document Upload page, click Choose File next to each upload field.
5. Select the pre-saved file from your device. Ensure the format is JPG/JPEG for photo and signature, and JPG or PDF for certificates.
6. Check the preview image displayed on screen — the content must be fully legible and within frame.
7. Repeat for all mandatory documents: photograph, signature, Class 10, Class 12, government ID, and category certificate (if applicable).
8. Click Save and Continue to proceed to the application fee payment step.

Do not refresh the page or use the browser Back button during the upload step. Keep your internet connection stable throughout, as incomplete uploads may not be saved automatically.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

These are the most common document errors that delay or invalidate CLAT 2027 registration.

• Wrong file format: Uploading a PNG or PDF for the photograph instead of JPG/JPEG is the most common error. Convert your image to JPG before uploading.
• Oversized photograph: If your photo exceeds 500KB, compress it using a free online tool. Do not crop the photo to reduce size — this can cut out the face.
• Blurry or dark photographs: The Consortium rejects photos where the face is not fully visible. Take the photo in good natural light with a plain white background.
